Try again tomorrow. He might have really loved it but was too proud to show it. Tomorrow, make the dot again but without looking directly at the cat while you do it... That's the only way we can get Felicity to play with the light.

Try putting the red dot on a paw or on his tail - that's how I get Sammy cat interested in playing with it. Goldie is terrified of it and runs away.

Good idea I will try not looking at him next time.

I think it was when i put it on his paw he realised it wasn't tangible and started to look at me instead.

I lit up the tip of my late cat Bugsy's nose. Then I lit up other things.

It didn't take him long to figure out that I was responsible for it, and start bugging me to go out in the hallway with him and make the red dot he then could chase frantically. Bugsy was older and ordinarily very dignified, but in the presence of red dot, all inhibitions vanished.

I just assumed he viewed it as keeping in training and keeping his reflexes sharp for his primary profession as an exterminator.

hmm i wonder if amazon reads your credit card number. because apparently, ebooks cost $2.00 more here x.x; if they don't read my credit card number, then maybe i can retain a US billing address (they don't physically send invoices of purchases of ebooks, right?)

Our boy is only really interested if the dot zips and wiggles like a mosquito on speed. It's fun to make him do circles.

Our Siamese will steadfastly refuse to play with any cat toy...unless he thinks no one (human or cat) is looking. You can see his frustration when he "acts like a cat" and suddenly realizes he can't do anything about it. It's like he consciously tries to be human; he even likes french fries, ranch dressing, pizza crust, and a few other nontraditional (for a cat) foods.

He's getting better with it though; he now insists on "drying" my hair if I sit down in my office chair after a shower. He also makes sure my nose is wet in the same way.

Also considerably more fun than an actual mosquito on speed, I would imagine.

Now my rant: VZW wants $150 for an $80 microSD card. Not happening. Also discovered that in order to get a subwoofer box of the size and type I want I have to order it online. Downside: shipping costs as much as the box.

Just had my shelves partially emptied by an earth quake... Do not... I repeat... Do not make Mother Nature angry!

I wonder what it did at the epicenter? I wonder where the epicenter was?

Not of the ground-shaking variety, and obviously not of the shelf-emptying level of disturbance, but Mother Nature here has just poured down buckets of water, rattled her pots and pans, and passed a bit of wind too. She's definitely in a state about something.

Cheers,
Marc

I hope all is OK. I just saw this recorded:
M5.0 - Near the south coast of western Honshu, Japan -

33.8648,135.3621

Were you close to the epicenter?

All is secure... Nothing damaged, just a few odds and ends knocked over or off some shelves.

Looks like it was about a magnitude 5 quake ... the epicenter appears to be about 70miles (100k) south-east of me. I haven't turned on the news to see what damage has been done, but the area is coastal, and somewhat rural rather than urban. I'll check out the 7 o'clock news for the full story.
