another rant. my prof in one of my classes is ALWAYS 30 mins late (it's a one and a half hour class). according to our student handbook, if a prof is 30 mins late, then we can technically leave. the problem is, she always comes at more or less after 30 mins, so we know she's coming and can't really leave. she's also really religious. there's nothing bad about it, but she is practically shoving it down our throats, never mind the fact that it's a class on law and not religion. she also gives mini-lectures about God and spirits and demons, and how we should all do the sign of the cross before praying and wear crucifixes to ward off demons. she is scary, and one time after class she suddenly said that we shouldn't wear shirts that have a neckline that's too low (i agree with this but it was her delivery that was quite...strange). she said we shouldn't show off our stuff and went on about sex and meaningful relationships. it was quite embarrassing (at the time, i was wearing a high-necked shirt so i wonder who she was talking about). unfortunately, one of my classmates have heard horror stories about her from friends who were under her the previous term.

And where is taking place? the U.S.? A public or private school?

Perhaps you could (anonymously) point out to her that she's breaking the "Thou shalt not steal" commandment, in that she's stealing from her students and the university by providing only one hour of lecture instead of her contracted one and a half?

here in the philippines. i study at a private, catholic university but the administration has always urged religious freedom and respect for all beliefs (we have tons of foreign students, mainly because the tuition fees here in my country are nowhere near as expensive as in the US or other developed countries), and until this prof, i have never had a professor who acts like she does.

sometimes it's not even an hour! on our last meeting, she came in 30 mins late, we prayed (it's not unusual for profs to want to pray before class, but it's usually a quick 30 second thing, and nobody is obligated to pray along), then she started telling us about demons and spirits and she started the lecture 30 mins before the end of the class! she even had the nerve to tell us she wanted to maximize the time (she said this after she sort of scolded me for chatting with my seatmate while we were sharing the textbook XD). i soo wanted to talk back, but with her personality, i just know she would send me to the discipline office.

previous students of hers have already filed grievances against her in the past, but i don't think she was penalized for it. sadly enough, i think that if an international student would approach her about it, she would be more accommodating than if we (local students) did.

Ah! I was about to have my own rant.

I've had a few teachers that were total jerks myself so I sympathize!

@kenny: yeah D: plus, she's sort of the silent-you-don't-know-what-she's-thinking type. plus she's pregnant, so i don't think she should be aggravated

We tried a lot to keep her from throwing up. She mainly does it in the morning because she doesn't chew her dry food. Feeding little bits makes her upset (and throw up) or she goes after Lexie's food or she lashes out at Lexie. We now have found dry food that has really small chunks which makes it harder for her to wolf down fast and it digest more easily, since then she has been throwing up less.

Every once in a while she still has a throwing up period. This one might be triggered by my mother going through all the boxes with books and stuff that came from my grandmother's flat. They have been standing in the hallway for ages and Nikita doesn't like it when you clean up (too busy) or when you move things.

Despite living in the inner city that is riddles with mice and rats we hardly have a mouse problem. When Lexie catches a mouse she eats it and leaves the tail. Nikita thinks mice are toys and brings them to the livingroom to "play" with them and when they stop moving she loses interest. Luckily neither of this has happened in quite some time!

Damnit! My frigging-fraggin-frakin' DroidX has taken to rebooting itself many times (but not always) whenever I plug it in to the computer via the usb cable!!!

Apparently many are having this problem but I've never see it before a few days ago.

There is a lot of speculation -- bad/failing sd card(s) -- the Weather Channel App -- a bug in the latest software update (but that was a while ago not just last week). Now the Weather Channel App did get updated (last week I think) and so I've uninstalled it and have not seen the "reboot" connecting since.

Also strange behavior in locking up occasionally and having to pull the battery to get it to come back!

I've had an issue with it occasionally losing it's ringtone (which is downloaded and stored on the SD card) but I've been just "living" with that. (a reboot fixed it)

Man! I love my DroidX but not when it starts this sH*T!!!

That has happened once so far on my iTouch. It is aggravating and time consuming. You have to redownload all your books and you lose any levels you have completed on any games you have installed. I will get rid of TWC app just in case. There are plenty of other weather apps.

I just finished 2 origami models. For the 1st one it took 1hr to complete 12 units and 1hr to assemble. But the 2nd one was bloody difficult. It took me all the afternoon and night: 2hrs to complete 30 units and 3hrs to assemble them all together. I think they're called dodecahedrons... When I have the camera I'll shoot them
