A dodecahedron is a 12 sided convex regular polyhedron, with each side a pentagon. (There's a group of French mathematicians who think the universe is shaped like a dodecahedron.)

There are 5 such polyhedra: tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron.

Does yours look like this?

not really. one is the normal dodecahedron that looks like the picture in Wikipedia article, but the other is different. it has 12 tips pushed into the core... er, I can't describe it

but your picture up there looks nice

I'll try that

EDIT: ahh I found this picture, mine looks nearly the same with pointed core 'cause the units are triangulars instead of trapezoidals.

At least by the time I get mine, you and Chris will have worked out how to get around all the "quirks".

I don't know that it's for sure the issue yet, but I uninstalled The Weather Channel app and I've not had the problem in half a dozen connects...

Man! I love my DroidX but not when it starts this sH*T!!!

Mine does a combination of those things and gets it all out of the way at once: It freezes, then reboots (fairly quickly I might add). Only with anything WiFi-related though; no USB issues.

The Weather Channel app has been a pain in the ass ever since Android 2.0, which leads me to my observation about DX's doing weird stuff: 99% of the time it's an app we have installed. I had to SBF flash mine after messing with files before figuring out how they work (trying to change the notification bar color

) and suddenly previous minor annoyances disappear...that is until I pull all my apps that are backed up on SD, then funny stuff happens again. I personally haven't had anything that was a total showstopper so I'm not sufficiently motivated to start uninstalling stuff one at a time to figure out what's causing what, but that's where I would look for a cause. Also try clearing the cache; boot into Recovery by pressing the Power button while holding the Home and Camera button at the same time; Andy and a warning symbol should appear. Hit the Search button and the Recovery menu should appear. choose "wipe cache partition" and reboot when it's finished. Then go after whatever's using the most CPU first as I've found that'll cause the most problems: I got an app called System Panel, it cost a few bucks (literally $2 or $3 IIRC) but it'll show you graphically what's doing what as far as CPU/RAM (in addition to task manager stuff) and is an excellent app. Doesn't hog a bunch of resources like a lot of task managers do. Hope that helps. FWIW we should be getting Gingerbread in about a month if my hunch/Verizon's scheduling holds.

I hope so and I hope it's stable. I'm lusting for an android tablet but don't want it if it doesn't honeycomb and don't want another wireless bill so looking for wifi only...

Two month old computer and my network adapter stopped working. Of course, on the weekend when tech support isn't there.

Okay. It's still one of the five convex regular polyhedra. It just uses a different construction technique.

There are four more regular polyhedra known as "star" or Kepler-Pionsot polyhedrons:

bluddy cat!

So I buy a couple of laser pointers on the internet for Mr M. I wait 2 weeks for delivery and they arrived less than an hour ago!

Yippee excitedly I set one up and tease the cat with it. he is interested and pats it with his paw for about 2 minutes, no chasing. then he looks at me not the red dot! *groan* Bloke has a go and Mr M wants to go out where he promptly chases a feather and give a dried leaf a good kicking.

10 Minutes later he wants back in so I try the red dot again. Absolutely NO interest now. He wah-wahs and wah-wahs and wah-wahs all throught the house to the back door and wah-wahs again looking at the outdoor table. (meaning he wants a brush).

All the toys I buy for the cat end this way. He always just looks at me not the toy. Except the spinning musical top that he was afraid of and ran away.

One of my cats is like that --- no effect/interest whatsoever, but the other one LOVE it more than anything in the world!
