The double refresh isn't happening with that book on 3.13.1.

Strange...

Could you either post it (public book) or PM it (copyrighted book, I promise I won't distribute)? I would like to take a look at it.

Everything seems faster for me on the latest firmware. That is, except for page turns. It became noticeably slower on my Aura.

I'm putting my extra Glo through a factory reset and going back to 3.13.1 to compare the page turns.

Page turn speed is the same.

In my case, I have experienced a slow down with page-turning in calibre generated kepubs but only if I "wait" a little before turning the page. Let's say, the time to read it. If I just turn pages rapidly, it's the same speed on each side. I reverted my H20 to 3.13.1 and kept my wife's Aura on 3.15.0 and i can really feel the difference between the two.

My books are sideloaded epubs and I don't know if that's a factor but it wasn't this slow before. Same experience with cramoisi, turning rapidly works fine but turning after some time reading is slower than before.

Just to add, pinch to zoom suddenly activates even if I have already unchecked that feature on the settings. Happened quite a number of times already.

Strangely, since turning the device off and on I can't reproduce the problem.

The UI has changed a lot, far more than any other update I've had in the last year. Seems simpler and cleaner, with smaller fonts in most places. Generally, I like it.

Particularly impressive is the PDF reader, which no longer flickers like mad as you pan the page.

It probably means that something failed and prevented it from working properly. The power off and on restarted the application and hence everything is working. It will be interesting to see if it happens again. But, could you look into the .kobo directory on the device and see if there is a stack dump? If there was an error these can be produce and help Kobo track down the error. The file is something like "stack_nn.log" where "nn" is two digits.

It's the same interface that is on the newer devices. I've been waiting for Kobo to update to this for a while. But, it looks like it isn't quite ready.

It's sooo comforting to find somebody who had the same expercience ! I was wondering I was turned into the people i'm working for at the library helpdesk who just consider in any circumstance the system slow or slower .

In my opinion, on H2O, page changes are slower, and there seems to be a bug. Whenever touching the lower left margin to go to previous page, it dims the light instead.

When you move your fingers from top to bottom on the left bezel of the screen you can make the light more lower, when u move from bottom to top,it will be brighter, this is a feature, not a bug.
If u touch it at the bottom but moves it a bit down, the light will dim.

Some reflexions to add after testing further the epubs. I tested with classic french epub justified left and right.

1. Page turning of epubs are snappier than 3.12.1
2. Hyphenation are now correct (in french, and i updated the hypen dic to the Libre Office one) even when there is trailing punctuation which is not the case with kepub.

But :

3. I can't deactivate hyphenation anymore (typically when I choose Justify : deactivated in the in-book option)
4. I can't justify to left only anymore (same menu, second option)

If the book is justify left (I convert it with Calibre), hyphenation is not working and in-book option to justify left and right (and activate hyphenation) doesn't work. And I'm sure I could do all I can't do now in 3.12.1.

On the whole, running epub seems better (to me) since the justify left and right + correct hyphenation is closer to the paper book experience.
