don't be upset. if you haven't started to get it... well you're a lot more like the rest of us than you ever knew. unfortunately the ones that were supposed to be there for you were a lot more messed up than a lot of our own. (not that anyone in my family is getting a free pass here!)

Your words were very clear in writing because words usually come out better with time to think. When thinking and talking at the same time, words may not come out as sharp. The therapist might not understand enough of what is being expressed.

If we understand you then we may also suffer from the effects of similar circumstances?

It's a GIRL!!
Some of you know this, and some of you may have missed it, but my daughter is making me a grandmother in November. We just found out that the baby is a little girl! NOW I'm excited. To be honest, it's all seemed a little unreal up until now.
I think I'll spend my day off in the baby department at every store in town...drooling over pink and lavender and lace and ruffles.

It's a good thing the nearest yarn shop is in DeKalb, 45 miles away. I've been holding off on the crocheting (I can't knit to save myself) until we had a gender.

I will wear the "mean old bat" moniker with pride, as I inherited it fair and square from my mother, who was the "crazy old bat". My daughter owns her own tattoo gun, Recluse, she can tattoo her own daughter...(yes, I shudder to think...). And the daughter didn't get her ears pierced til she was 12 or 13, so I don't know what her policies toward her own child will be on that. I see tiny babies with their ears pierced now, so...who knows?
