Too late, the storm is gone and there was no lightning, at least here (I heard some distant thunder). I'll try it next time.

My tomato plants were a bit flattened by the rain, and there was mud all over my windows. I hadn't thought about that effect of window-sill farming

Got up at 9 this am - already 80 F & 80% humidity. Opened the deck door and slammed it shut. Sigh. Another sweaty day.

Going to clean out the flowerbeds at the front of the house (actually a misnomer - can't get any flowers to grow) - errr... strips of dirt below the windows and put down pine bark chips. Then a long tepid shower and a Guinness.

We have twice had an example of a species of a largish native snail in our upper side garden. They look little different to a normal garden snail, except their shell is slightly more conical, and about the size of a golf ball (and the body scaled as with a garden snail). I've a picture if one crawling on my hand somewhere around the place. I've the shell of another sitting on the side retaining wall. I'm pretty sure they don't eat greenery, but just the dead stuff on the ground (a but like our native, big, burrowing cockroaches, which we also get in the garden). Certainly they've no interest in our current plants, which are mostly trees.

i'll have to try that myself next time ! (could be any minute ; the sky suddenly went dark as night here).

i was trying to sleep when the rain started this morning and i had to get up and close all the windows. i wasn't fast enough in the other room and there was a bit of a puddle on the floor. i went back to bed anyway though. i was up all night at a party and i needed my sleep.

i'm pretty good today is going to be "stay inside and recover from your night" weather, in my personal micro-climate anyway.
