I'm glad not everyones wishes can come true. Just like in the joke (I'll post later in the joke thread).

On topic: Going to bed. My own bed. Pretty rare occasion these last weeks.

I had the biggest fright of my life last night. The bloke had pressed the button the close garage door and cat was in the driveway. I raced back to the garage to see Mr M try to slip under the door as it was closing. He got stuck and I pressed the button just in time to stop him being cut in half. All the time I was screaming.

Mr M was more upset about the noise I was making than the fact that death was but half a minute away. He walked back down the driveway all fluffed up to 3 times his size as a cat does when he has a fright. Within 10 minutes he was fine eating his dinner. I on the other hand was shaking like a leaf.

Mr M is still alive and well this morning, and I am trying not to imprint this as a trauma to give me nightmares.

My nerves are still a little shot. I have to look up how to adjust the sensitivity on the door, but I hope he won't try that again.

Thank you for listening.

Definitely adjust the sensitivity! Cat is depending on it!

My garage door has a detector and will not close if anything is blocking it.....

You should get one.

My cats are forever trying to beat the door and then it reverses and opens back up.....it has been left open overnight several times because of that!

LittleDaughter(LD) gave us the scare of our life yesterday afternoon. I was happily reading posts when I heard Wife (W) screaming from downstairs: where is LD? I jumped up, checked all the room upstairs and run down the stairs. W was outside calling LD. W gets in and searches, always calling. I run around the house, down the first lawn, look down the second lawn. Then go into the small buildings, the atelier. Nothing. Then from the windows of the veranda, besides the second lawn, I see a blond head playing quietly with her excavator in my lettuce bed. I cry she is here. Me and W embrace, trembling. LD looks up at us. I grab her excavator from her hands, she starts crying. W picks her up and the three of us come back toward the house. I feel like I aged 20 years in 5 minutes.

I will not tell the kind of thoughts I fought back when I was looking for LD.

Glad all is good. That happened to me a couple of times when my kids were little....it's a terrifying experience.

Hugs!
