Well, I'm sure the first time is the hardest, so you can start to plan your journeys around the world now Have a good trip!

A man after my own heart. In the words attributed to W. C. Fields*, "Anyone who hates children and animals can't be all bad."

* Does anyone here know the source of that attribution?

Well, I did try to take the boychild to the kennel once, but he drove away in his car before I could get the collar on. I suggested taking the grandkids once but SUmkIII offered a great deal of violence if I did.

Actually, I can't even take the furry kids to the kennel so we end up getting a house sitter...

My mum once went home while "accidentally" leaving one of my older brothers in his pram out the front of the chemist. I think she did it with my sister too in similar circumstance (which is fair enough - I didn't call my sister "The Antichrist" for nothing). Angry woman mum was at times, and a good marksman from the kitchen sink with whatever she happen to have in her hand should you have pushed her over the hedge into crazytown.

Still, it was such things that made me the fine, upstanding citizen I am today. [sips at straw in BIG GULP ZCD]

Cheers,
Marc (an unmoving target)

Laughing hysterically at Marc's post - enough to forget most of what I was mad about. Thanks, Marc, needed that...

Trying to relax right now but my kitten is crazy. She's learned how to jump onto the dresser, which has my nice new 32 inch flat screen. So every time she gets near it I'm making warning noises. I'm worried also because she's hanging out on this short wall in the loft where I sleep, which on the other side goes down to the third floor. I keep worrying she's going to fall down, but I can't stop her from getting up there (I tried).

I'm really hoping she calms down eventually I have to put her in this room at night because she won't let me sleep. I have child gates up but she just jumps over it.

Argh

Give her a year or two and it'll get easier.

Then you'll think she's boring.

Then you'll get another kitten.

Then you'll be unnerved again.

Then the new kitten will grow older.

Then you'll think they're both boring.

Then you'll get another kitten.

besides posting here, I am watching the 'Ace of Cakes' show on food network. I never realized cakes could be made in such variety until I started watching the show.
