I used to be able to download books to ADE and add them to calibre.
But cannot do now
They are not called .acsm and I can't recognise them.

I still dont know what to do with myold configuration folder also.

Install the ASCM Input plugin for calibre. It will take the .acsm file and download the eBook and put it directly in calibre. If you have DeDRM setup and configured, the DRM will be removed so you'll end up with DRM free eBooks in your library.

Here is the thread to read and ask any questions about the plugin. With this plugin, you'll never have to download any eBooks using ADE again. I use it and it works very well. IT will allow you to import your credentials from your ADE install.

That section of the calibre manual is obsolete. Also, it can be somewhat confusing.

Remember the calibre manual is just that; a guide to CALIBRE as supplied by Kovid; not a guide as to plugins available for it to address issues like DRM removal.

Sigh. I'm quite certain that all of the questions you ask have already been answered in this thread.

Obviously you managed to find the config files on the old PC. Calibre stores it's configuration file in the C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\calibre directory. So you just need to copy the config files to the directory.

If you had previously been using a calibre plugin to handle ACSM files then it's configuration will now have been copied and working.
