Tolino Vision 6 Bootloop

My name is Andrew and I am from Switzerland. I just registered in this forum as I borrowed a Tolino Vision 6 from a friend of mine. I wanted to read a very interesting book called "Chip War" during my vacation when the device suddenly rebooted and now seems stuck in a bootloop

The original SD-card seems defective, I cannot enter the recovery-mode nor copy it to a new one using Win32-imager. I cannot see the card on my Windows computer either. I tried the suggested steps in this thread however I am pretty sure the original card is broken.

@Waldy: Could you please share the image for the serial 23144880 / motherboard 6C1 ( 37NB-E70P1M+6C1) . I would like to copy it onto a 32GB micro-SD card.

I hope I can get it running and finally read the book

Under Windows 11, use balenaEtcher to write.
The new SD card must be at least 29.54 GB. Under Windows 10 (7) you can use USB Duplicator Image Writer, the new SD card can be 1 GB smaller.

update: So I managed to get it working again. HUGE thanks to Waldy for providing the image through PM and also for the tips.

If you have the same issue: Make sure to use Balena Etcher on Windows 11. I had to use a version of August 23 (1.8) to flash the image. With the newer versions I could not even choose the SD-card to flash it.

another very important task is to remove the conformal? coating inside the sd-card slot. The contacts are kind of covered with coating that prevents making contact with the card.

I used IPA-alcohol and a tiny brush. Please be very careful while doing so. I unfortunately bent a contact and then removed the aluminium-cover to bend the contact. The card now is (I hope) secured with hot glue.

anyway, the device is running again and I can finally read the intended book

my wife's Tolino Vision 6 is broken. it only shows 3 dots, and any attempt to restart didn't work solar, so I learned in this forum (thanks a lot) that the sd card is not working anymore.

the motherboard is a 37NB-E70P1M+6B2 and I'm using Mac Books.

Please send me an image for a new sd card.

today I have exakt the same issue. Deathloop on Tolino Vision 6. I took the sd card out and put in into PC, but the card is complete dead. Could you please also send me the image for version 6B2? That would be awesome.

Thank you very much, I was able to create the image without any problems, but unfortunately I was unable to get the device out of its "frozen" state - in the end I tried restarting the device by removing the battery. This doesn‘t work either.
So I think the Vison 6 of my wife is pushing the daisies.

Thanks a lot! But I'm not making any progress. I installed your image and updated the serial number. Still, the device won't boot. Is the hardware defective, or is the SD card wrong?

There could be many reasons:

The microSD card slot is still dirty from the coating.

The microSD card is incompatible with this image.

The image was written with the wrong program.
(On Windows 11, use only DMDE or BalenaEtcher.)

Sometimes the card reader is the culprit.

If the card slot is clean, the card is written correctly, but the device still won't boot:
press and hold the power button for 12-20 seconds. You can repeat this several times.
(Since it's unknown what state the device is in, for example, in Fastboot mode.)

Connecting the Tolino to a USB-C fast charger with a USB-C to USB-C cable often helps.

As a last resort, you can unsolder the connected battery for a few minutes.
