I use them for shared code. For example, putting

Code:

readstatus()=='currentlyreading'

instead of

Code:

(percent >=#1 && percent <=#99||$$#lastread != 'None' && percent ==#0)

anywhere that checks for it, or using the same rules for column icons and emblems.

Very cool. Will take a look one of these days. As you know, I have a bunch of stored templates @chaley gave us like 'items_with_notes', 'item_has_links', 'get_one_book_per_field_value' and they work fine in my main library...then when I need those searches in my other calibre installs, I end up finding another way to do what I want, to skip the "let's install that stored template on this calibre instance" hassle.
