Looks like we got 3" of snow - 16 F - but fortunately the predicted 45 mph gusts didn't happen - will attempt to clear off the steps later today - if the sun comes out

Update: just broomed off the back steps - sunny & 30 F - 3-4" of fluffy powdery snow that's heavy AF - heart attack snow - ok to push with broom or shovel, no lifting - retreated back inside - will let the sun, and Wednesday's promised rain, do the heavy lifting.
Incredibly cold wind chills - wore my arctic parka and face gaiter - still got cold within 10 minutes.

4℃ and cloudy (6.15am). Rain is predicted most of the day. But it should be dry when I go to work and when I'm getting out of work.

Yesterday I read the predictions for this month, where they expect another cold snap, with possibly more snow, mid February. At the end of the month we should be getting some warmer and sunnier weather. Of course things can change, so we'll have to wait and see.

We're in a nice break from the heat - only 33 today - and it looks like all the local bushfires are currently under control (touch wood).

I measured 6 inches up north of you. I drove to the office yesterday and the side roads in Carrboro were a MESS.

I hope we do get that rain and not more sleet tonight.

Yesterday felt like summer - sunny & in the 50's F - actually comfortable to take walks - still some rock hard ice on side streets.

Today = rainy, gloomy, 40's F, miserable - with snow & freezing rain tonight - going back into hibernation mode with my blanket

I think I received 9 inches of snow. It's hard to tell with it blowing into drifts.

Warmer today about 36F. Sunny.

More snow expected Saturday.

My backyard is still full of snow...

It felt colder than it was today. I went out mid-morning to get my taxes done and there was that hard, damp chill in the air still.

The last couple of days we've had very diverse weather. On Wednesday it was 10℃ and sunny. Yesterday, my day off work, it was 3℃, windy, cloudy and from 3pm rainy. Today it'll be 7℃, cloudy and the rain will start soon (currently 6.15am) and last until the early evening. But tomorrow it'll be 10℃+ and really sunny, which is great since I've got a trip planned to a record fair in Rotterdam.

I'm really missing daylight on days I work. When I arrive at work it's still dark and when I get off work at 5pm it gets dark in less than an hour at the moment. The supermarket I work for is in the basement of a parking garage and the window I can see from the cash registers is blacked out. I'm seriously thinking of getting one of those daylight therapy lights.

Yesterday was a lovely day; 13℃ and sunny. Today will be similar day, but a couple of degrees colder. I was glad I had a planned a day out.

From Tuesday the rain returns and we're in for at least a couple of rainy days.
