As long as you have calibre installed yoy have the ability to run python code.
Try (from a command prompt) Code:
calibre-debug -e <file_that_contains_Python_code> Code:
calibre-debug -e test.py |

Returning to the conversion of Kindlebooks in Calibre. Not being a tech-wizard it sometimes is a bit of a pain.
At first I downloaded my Kindlebooks on my Kindle Paperwhite 10, firmware 5.18.1......I had to open each book before I could transport and convert them to Calibre. That worked for a time. Afterwards I downloaded my books on an old Kindle(firmware 3.4.3.) and once I reregisterd it on Calibre with its serial number, I was able to convert the books in "view my books on the Kindle (or something like that) and then I could add them to 'my library'. That conversion stopped and I figured out that I can first add the books to 'my library' and convert them, of which I'm glad. I hope that it won't get any more complicated..... |

What bothers me a bit is that Satsuoni's method may be given too much publicity by Jadehawk's post on Techy + YouTube video. The less is propagated about such things the better I think, when it comes to Amazon knowing about it (although I'm sure they use every possible search tool to find out what goes on where about this anyway)...

As I recall, it was rather shortly after Satsuoni published their method, that Amazon blocked most text books from being able to be downloaded by K4PC? Anyone believe that was a coincidence?

Of course not. They also blocked key extraction from memory dumps in the latest K4PC, if I recall correctly, but Sats found a way around this.

Hello. I ran into a problem. I followed the method exactly, I still have K4PC 2.8.0 (automatic downloads prevented), and what I got is what I copied next. If someone has an idea of what went wrong...

@Jacques Q.
My guess is that the book isn't kfx format. There are some additional steps in that case. If you have an E-ink Kindle on firmware lower than 5.18.5, that's an alternative. |

I'm only getting kfx-zip books into calibre now. My kindle is a 9th gen Oasis, firmware version 5.16.2.1.1. I was transferring books from Amazon to my kindle right around midnight and the last book came in as kfx-zip when I transferred it to calibre, the other books are kfx.
I'm wondering if the last book that's stuck in kfx-zip land came in after midnight and there was a switch flipped somewhere. I tried deleting a book from calibre that I downloaded from amazon last week and downloaded it to my kindle and then transferred it to calibre and it's also kfx-zip now. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions for fixing it? |

My suggestion is to post a log of an import that fails to the site hosting the DRM removal plugin. See that site for instructions on how to produce that. Detailed assistance with DRM removal is not allowed here on MobileRead. |
