I have issues in the winter with cracking on my thumbs too. The inside corner right above the the nail on each hand. They crack and bleed and I get them healed up and a week later they crack again.

My great aunt Meya was a candy maker back in the 50's-70's. She used to put Corn Husker's Lotion on her hands at night, and wore thick white cotton gloves over the lotion. Her finger tips would split like that. My left thumb just healed from a split, you have my sympathy, they are nasty.

Yes, I'm having those issues too! Splits at the corners of the nail, where the skin below bends but has gotten hard. And also fingertip splits, dryness so they catch on fabric, and so dry that my grip is slipping and I keep dropping things. I've been using several lotions including Aquaphor, and a pair of cotton gloves. It helps. I've also tried harder to use gloves when doing even small quantities of dishes. Ouch!

I feel for you! This won't heal it, but once the split closes, start using Udder Balm several times a day. It really is the best I've found. Isn't greasy, doesn't have any weird things in it that even chemists can't pronounce, and works into your skin completely, not leaving a tacky or oily feeling. (Yes, I was a chemist, working in the paint department of a major auto plant with all those solvents. And this stuff saved me.)

I will agree that Udder Balm works well though most of my experience with it was for milk cows. As far as I recall, we purchased it at a livestock & seed store. One oddity at that time was there was a lemon(??) scented version though we only used the unscented version.

I use plain web OverDrive for my libraries.
I keep a lot of things on my "Wish List".
Normally, since very few are available at any time, I use the "Available now" filter.
Overdrive just got rid of that.
So now I have to scroll through pages of Wish List to see if anything is actually available to borrow.

Took me a moment. Oh, it's the exact type of play on words that I like to do, and I still didn't get it!!

But I like that my retirement community (which owns the whole house) comes in and cleans vents once a year.
