Oh dear! Stay warm. At least, by showing up even in that weather, you show that you are serious about the job!

I used to have a job where the walk one way was 45 minutes.
There were parts of that where you could substitute a bus but it was more of a hassle than it was worth. Working the evening shift I got back home around midnight. If it snowed I would shovel the driveway when I got back. It was very peaceful at 1 AM. Shoveling snow is the only part of manual labor/gardening that I don't dislike. I lived in a household with three cars. I didn't have one. |

Today was busier than yesterday and I most worked at the "square" (self check-out), so my feet are sore, but I'm mentally not as tired as yesterday. For tomorrow a kind of snowmageddon is predicted, with up to 7cm of snow. There's an amber weather warning for most of the country. They first said it would start snowing in the early morning, but now that's been moved to between 7 to 9 am. We'll see. I can walk if the trams aren't going/planners are too vague. To make things even more fun is that on Wednesday there are always new products on sale, so it's normally very busy. So I hope I won't be the only one showing up for the cash registers again. Though if there's a snowmageddon it might be quiet, though you always have people who will show up. |

It's 6.20am and it hasn't started snowing, yet. So the trams should go reasonably on time this morning. Whether they're still in operation when I'm done working is a problem for future me.
I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, my weekday off. Since our cleaner can't come this Friday I had kinda planned to do a quick clean around the house. But after the last couple of days I think I deserve a day (mostly) off. My sister and I can do the chores together on Saturday. |

Ran out of garbage bags and bought box of cheap dollar-store ones. Half-full it split apart and all garbage spilled in apartment hallway. OK, won't get that brand again.

The brand I use for my trashcan recently changed it's dimensions. It's still 35 liters, but they've become narrower and longer and won't fit my trashcan anymore. |

I had to walk home again last night. The trams were kinda on schedule in the morning, but shortly after I arrived at work there was an accident nearby where a van slid into a tram, derailing it. So the rest of the day there weren't any trams in the southern section. It had snowed again yesterday morning, so there was fresh snow on frozen/icy snow which made it very treacherous to walk on.
Today the northern half of the tram route isn't in operation, again because of an accident with a van. But it is going on our section, though not on any schedule. Today's my day off, the cashiers app group is buzzing with requests to come in because others could come. I'm not volunteering, I'll do my best to be there tomorrow for the final day of my first week. Last night it started to rain/sleet on and off until early this morning. I heard the snow sliding of the roof and solar panels all night. Tonight it's going to start raining, with all the snow and cold ground it will get icy. Tomorrow late afternoon it can turn into snow. Hopefully the trams will go tomorrow all day. Having to get to the tram stop will be an undertaking, let alone if I have to walk all the way. Today I'm taking it easy, I'm doing some laundry and I'm waiting for my father's birthday present to be delivered. This afternoon I'm going to relax and do some cross stitching. |

@Rumpelteazer: pardon, but did you thought about using/buying a pair of moon boots?
Imho having to spend that time frozing the foots, and the risks of slippering on icy or snowed surfaces wouldn't be great; I guess those boots might be quite a solution.. |

I haven't had cold feet, thanks to my hiking shoes. Which also have a good, grippy thread. Last night it started raining and it rained throughout the night. It's dry now for a little while (of course it'll start raining again when it's time for me to leave for work). It'll keep raining all day, though by the end of the afternoon, when it cools down again it's going to turn into (wet) snow. A lot of the snow on the sidewalk has melted, though the leftovers will be slippery. Today local public transport should be working on schedule, hopefully things won't get cancelled again later today. This morning I'll leave in time so I can take it slow of the probably icy sidewalks/roads. |

I would love to have a bakfiets (transporter bike). You have them with three wheels (like above), but those are prone to tip on tighter bends and you have them with two wheels. I would like one that's electric, though. Because as my grandfather used to say I'd rather be lazy than tired.
I did learn this week that you actually have winter tires for your bike, who knew. I did know that having slightly softer tires when it's icy helps with grip. Yesterday I took the tram to work and the bus home (since the tram just left). Next week is looking good. Whilst tomorrow temperatures will drop to -7℃ on Monday it'll be 6℃ in the afternoon, by Wednesday it'll be around 10℃. That's Dutch weather for you. |

A mundane vent.
I needed to pick up some trousers from a shop. The shop's opening hours are 9-5.30. I walk into town to get there at 4:45 to a closed shop and a hand-written notice that they had to close at 3pm today. Sigh. At least they left a note. And I'm sure there was a good reason. But it was a chilly walk. |
