8.16.0 had issues
8.16.2 is current, but because you had 8.16, the notifications do not work on the 'fixed' release.
Simply go to the Calibre download site and get the latest and that should help

I'm sure we've been through this before, but I can't remember.

I wanted to have a look at RG and this message showed up. I started reading the book last year, but haven't finished it yet. The strange thing is that the message is only appearing now and not the days before (IIRC).

What this means is...

It's now 2026. You last read date in calibre is 2025. What you cab do is change the date to 01/01/2026. Then you can add the book to your list. And once you plug in your Kobo and update the resting stats after having read that book, you'll be correct again.

Shouldn't they be transferred automatically? I also have currently reading books from 2024 and I can't remember this message in the past.

I have added it as JSWolf described with a new date and got 2 entries with 0% progress for this book. Then I deleted it and added it as a new book with the old 2025 date. Since then no problems anymore.

The problem I reported on 01-09-2026 11:05 AM still persists.

Thanks for the tip.

I've since upgraded not only to Calibre version 8.16.2, but also updated my Mac to macOS Tahoe 26.2. Perhaps this unfortunately didn't resolve the issue.

The problem I reported on 01-09-2026 11:05 AM still persists.
What else could be causing it?

Thanks for your efforts.
Best regards

I've gone through my data to check for incorrect or missing values. I found one incorrect value (1000%) and corrected it, but that didn't work. Then I tried removing books with incomplete information, such as unfinished books or audiobooks, from the database. But none of the books were added.

I also tried the suggestion from "Yesterday 07:27 PM by thiago.eec:

without success.

What am I doing wrong?

My English isn't very good, and I also have no programming knowledge. So please excuse my clumsy description.

Sorry for the late reponse. I've seen something like this before. For some unknown reason some people have an 'All' entry in ther year list in the database. These is not expected. Maybe it was caused by an already fixed bug, or a rare bug that has not yet been discovered.
Anyway, I added an exception for this case. Try the attatched version.

Jon is right. When the plugin moves your unfinished books to the new year's goal, it creates an expected inconsistence with the dates. The first time your interact with the plugin it will show the offending books. Just change their reading date to match the new year.

And yes, they are transfered automatically if you check this option, but the plugin does not change your calibre library, and that's what causes the inconsitence. This is a conseguence of the developing choice to never change the calibre library.

Calibre 9 beta now has built-in pages column. Don't see way to set to it in options. No hurry, but some users may want to use it instead of custom column when it releases (I won't, half my books are physical).

I thought about that. I'll add it as an option in the dialog.
Also, the beta brings a new incompatibility issue QWebEngineView that afects the plugin. When you click the month name to go to the daily view, calibre crashes. I'm working on a fix.
