Also on a Libra 2 experiencing this issue. It is really irritating. Also have really high battery drain while using the remote. I really like it otherwise. I am wondering if the button presses not registering is a manufacturer defect or if this is an issue that can be resolved through a firmware update.

I also have the same problem on a libra 2. Going on reddit, the people with the same problem mostly seem to also have a libra 2 BW

When paired with my Kobo Libra 2, every 30 seconds or so, the remote's blue bottom light comes on for two or three seconds, and during that time, presses of the page-turn buttons on the remote have no effect. (User Ambient was the first to discover this.)

Another Libra 2 here in the same boat:

- Remote button is a bit hit and miss, sometimes requiring multiple presses to register.
- Every so often (sometimes after just a couple of pages) the remote just stops working and I have to either turn the Kobo off/on or turn Bluetooth off/on to get it to work again.
- Battery drain is much, much worse than before (probably due to wireless being tuned on and Bluetooth constantly scanning, even when connected).

It was mentioned on another thread here that Rakuten are looking providing a patch for the Libra 2 to resolve the issues. I hope that this is true, and that it won't take too long. The remote is great ... when it works.

I think you are referring to a post I made. Kobo is aware of the issue however there is no timeline as when a new firmware with a fix for the issue will be released.

Strange, though the remote's power draw on my Clara BW is high, it seems to be very usable with both my Android and iOS Kobo apps. Until fixed I'm very happy to use it with my iPad Mini. Paired right up and works like a champ.

I didn't expect it but the remote also works with my iPad an Android Kindle Apps as well as Kobo Apps with no tweaking. Simply Bluetooth pairing ...

The flaw is this, as another user found:

When using a Libra 2 with the remote, every 30 seconds or so, the blue light on the bottom of the remote comes on for two or three seconds. When the light is on, any press of the remote's page-forward or page-backward buttons is ignored.

Yes, I saw that thanks, and followed it up with my own observations:

Quote:
One thing I have noticed when my remote is connected and I look at More > Settings > Bluetooth connection, is that in the SAVED DEVICES section, under "Kobo Remote", it says "CONNECTED". Then, when the blue light starts flashing on the remote (as mentioned above) it changes to "SAVED, AVAILABLE". Once the blue light stops flashing, it changes back to "CONNECTED".

Also, at the bottom left of this screen, it constantly says Scanning... and there is a progress circle which never stops rotating.

The only hiccup I've found so far is when the device is put to sleep and then woke up I have to touch the screen once to get it working again.

Got the remote as a Christmas gift. Thoughts on using it with my Sage:
  1. It does seem to drain the battery more quickly.
  2. I still like it.

It feels so much more ergonomic in the hand than what I expect those 8bitdo mini controllers would feel like. And since my Sage periodically suffers from an issue where pressing the physical page-forward button on the device gets it stuck in a page-forward loop until I press the page-back button to stop it, I'm actually getting more reliable page-turning from the remote.

I don't think I'll use it all the time, but it is still quite nice when I'm curled up in a comfortable position and want to prop up the Sage rather than holding it.

My sister has the Kobo Libra 2, she keeps telling me the page turns stop working every so often so it sounds like the same issue. I have the Kobo Libra Colour and I don't experience this.
