New certificate expires in 2099.

So the chances are good that most of us will expire before the certicate.

This is an older thread and I am not sure if anyone will see this question or not. I noticed the KUAL expired permissions error today and was able to fix it using the tools provided here (thanks all!). I also have a similar error on the `kif' application that lets you play interactive word games (see: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=101876). I knew it was a stretch, but I was hoping that the KUAL fix would magically fix kif as well. Are there any kif users here that have run into this issue? TIA

@lSpencer My guess would be that you or someone else also needs to re-sign that KIF file using a key from the new keystore.

@shamanNS. Thank you. Can you point me to a few more details/threads on how I would do that? Some of this is new to me. TIA.

I downloaded the updates and put them in the proper paths (kual v2 in the /document path, the updater in the main path and the new cert in /var/local/java/keystore/) but once unmounted the kindle nothing happened, no trigger to install the update. Can anyone please write the steps you should follow to complete the update? Maybe I'm forgetting something. Thanks in advance |

I can`t make it work on Kindle DX, getting The title is noty signed by registered developer I have installed this MKK update 2x already Update-mkk-20250419-dx-B004_keystore-install.bin I`m probably on a wrong date since I have to ruin the setdate update everytime I loose power to the device. Would wrong date be an issue? Last edited by vendo232; Today at 12:31 PM. |
