my Kobo Forma's buttons just fell off a few days ago. it's still usable with the touchscreen, but please Kobo, give me something already.

Mines too , I've put a little strip of a soft scotch, traversally in the middle, just to keep it on place

A nice little Mini ['Mini Mine'] would be a welcome addition.
What we need most of all and that will sell is a new Libra BW with no color layer. I like the design of the H2O. That would be a really good design for the new Libra BW.

sadly they don't actuate anymore. it's probably an easy fix for someone who knows what they're doing, but I'm just no good when it comes to hardware.

That was my impression. I would like a front-lit Mini... but not with a color screen.

Is the Sage not that? I'm genuinely curious—having missed both the Aura One and the Forma, I'm keen to get a Sage while they're still available.

What do you think it's missing that the Aura One could do?

I guess a "true" successor in this case is being defined as an 8" model without buttons, as both the Forma and Sage are successors to the Aura One, but both have buttons, and the Sage also has stylus support.

Ah, ok. That makes sense. I, too, would happily have an 8" reader with no buttons and no stylus support (neither of which I need), if it were priced accordingly!

There is also a new Clara BW N365B though I haven't seen it in the wild. I suspect that it would also have an 1900mAH battery.
Yes, N365B model has larger battery. See >>https://zh.ifixit.com/Device/Kobo_Clara_BW_N365B

The buttons can be ignored and the stylus is an option.

I'd like a Sage without the load of stupid magnets (for power cover?), without power cover doc and ideally a bigger battery (cell).

I'd like a BW Scribe with frontlight running Kobo firmware.

It would be a bit better than either Elipsa. I'd maybe consider such a Kobo if it had the new 11″ approx mono screen.

well, hopefully we don't have to wait too long to hear what they have in store. now that amazon has revealed their new kindle lineup, maybe kobo's nearly ready for their own announcement?

of course, we could all wind up being really disappointed, and we might learn that the "new little hardware surprise" is nothing more than an official page-turner.
