I don't know about that. Admittedly, I do very little with Windows, but Windows 11 seems to have more unwanted ads and definitely defaults to more AI crap than Windows 10.

I have no ads in Windows 11. The biggest difference is the hardware requirements of Windows 11.

I am totally Linux myself, but if Windows has dropped to the point where the OS is actually presenting ads, I would not recommend that OS to anyone. Are you sure it's the OS that is throwing ads at you? Or is it just third party some application/website that is running on top of the OS?

I haven't seen any ads, but then I use a patch that enables the Windows 10 start menu, which was head and shoulders above that of Windows 11. Same for the taskbar.

Win10 also has ads, but it depends on the version.

Supposed hardware requirements... Touted secure boot requirement is not needed at all. You can disable it with by installing windows with an official boot disk create with Rufus:

Maybe wrong in your case, but not wrong for everyone. I have personally seen these ads that "don't exist."

Maybe, there's a way to block them. I don't know. I also know that now, when you do Menu search, instead of looking through your applications, Windows 11 opens up a website in Edge (even when Edge is not your default browser).

Going back a lot of years but at one point, you could damage IBM 5151 monitors when the software sent the the wrong horizontal sync signal.
