The few times I've played with Hangul, I used Noto Serif Korean.

Please could someone do a standard Bookerly font with added weight? Thanks.

I did one ages ago, I don't have it anymore but must be somewhere around here.
There is merit to doing it, usually performs better than on-the-fly adding weights. |

If there is a version of Bookerly with weight added to it on MR, then it has to go as it's not allowed to be posted without Amazon's permission.

Chapparal Pro was removed, but it doesn't say why.
I've downloaded and modified a copy of it, and it is working at 99.99%. I've just found one nit that I don't know how to fix. In a couple of books that have nested quotations, I have seen authors insert a small space between the single quote and the double quote. When I open it in the Calibre editor, it is identified as "THIN SPACE". Chapparel Pro doesn't appear to have that character, and so it throws up a box with an X in it between the quote marks. If I switch to Rakutan Serif, it is displayed properly, so it isn't a Kobo issue. Is there a relatively easy way to fix this? I have FontForge, but very little knowledge of how it works. |

The Supplemental Font idea should have worked, but it doesn't. There must be an entry under U+2009 rather than a null. I'll try deleting that character. Also, Rakutan Serif seems to be the only font that properly displays that character. (For some reason, my Supplemental Font was set to AR UDJingxihei, even though I have never viewed an Asian font.) If that doesn't work, I suppose I could just delete the THIN SPACE from the book and deal with the visual of '", which I wouldn't mind. Last edited by fogice; Yesterday at 02:55 PM. |

Are you certain there is a glyph at the point? It seems to show the Xed out block for unused fonts.

I'm seeing the same as you. So my guess was wrong. I don't know why setting Rakutan Serif as the supplementary font doesn't fix this, or have any ideas other than deleting the offending character from the book.
