I have a Libra H2O with 0.5Gb space spare of 8Gb. Koreader is installed, up to date and running fine but Plato will not load. I just get the "Launched Plato.sh " then three dots animation then it returns to the standard Home screen. I rebooted in KOReader and got message "KFMon internal storage unavailable - bye", then a return to the Home screen. Any suggestions as to how to fix? Should I just re-install the KoReader/Plato package?

Perhaps you could try uninstalling KFMon and simply using NickelMenu to launch Plato or KOReader.

Good afternoon!

After a few failed attempts I was able to successfully install the KOReader AND Plato package using the script in Windows 11 onto my Kobo Mini. I followed the prompts on screen, waited till I was told it was completed, ejected, and waited for the reboot, but I cannot locate any of the apps or launcher from the Home or Library menus. I did a soft reset and the issue continues to manifest

I should mention that this device doesn't look like it was ever updated, as it's running 2.1.2. Do I need to update the FW to most current or a specific version in order to get this working as intended?

Yes. You definitely need to update.

Thanks - and I can get the most up to date version that's available for this device? I'm guessing I'll need to reflash the file again post-update.

Appreciate your help. Do you have a ko-fi link?

You can download the firmware from links on Patrick Gaskin's Kobo Firmware Downloads. The last official firmware for the Mini was 3.19.5761-s but I have used 4.38.21908 on my Mini and it seems to work okay.

You may need to re-install the package since KFMon does not, AFAIK, survive a firmware update. Personally, the first thing I do after installing the One Click Packages is to uninstall KFMon since I use NickelMenu to directly launch KOReader and Plato.

Thanks. I'm not sure if it makes any difference but I was using NickelMenu to try to launch Plato. NickelMenu launches KoReader fine.

If you look at the plato and koreader shell files in the .adds/nm directory, you'll notice they have two methods in each of launching the app.

Plato:
Code:
# Launch Plato via KFMon
# NOTE: .adds/nm/kfmon will generate this automatically
#menu_item : main : Plato : kfmon : plato.png

# Launch Plato directly via NM
#menu_item : main : Plato : cmd_spawn : quiet : exec /mnt/onboard/.adds/plato/plato.sh

Help! I've been having a heck of a time trying to install KOReader on my Kobo Elipsa 2e and I'm not sure what I'm messing up. I'm using a mac. The install script runs with no problems, and nickelmenu installs. However, when I try to launch koreader, either through nickelmenu or kfmon, it gives me a bomb error. Here's a link to the crash log file.

For whatever reason it looks like some files/folders are just not there, but again, I have no clue why this is happening. I've also attempted to do the manual install and use a nightly build, all to no avail.

You might be better off posting this in the KOReader thread: (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=276).

Hello
Does One Click Install Koreader work on software version 4.42.23296? I am wondering whether to install it and I'm afraid of being disappointed if it doesn't work.

The OCP package works but there have been reports of issues with KOReader and 4.42.23296 firmware. After installing the OCP package, I would suggest installing the latest KOReader nightly package and giving it a try.

It would be a good idea to post in this thread if the Nightly works or not.

For what it may be worth, I installed OCP-Plato-0.9.44_KOReader-v2025.04.zip on a Kobo colour device with firmware 4.42.23296. I then ran the KFMon uninstaller and updated NickelMenu to the last development version. After this, I added the lines to run Plato and KOReader to the NickelMenu config file. Lastly, I unpacked koreader-kobo-v2025.04-125-gf2c678c20_2025-06-19.zip (the latest nightly just before I wrote this message) over the contents of the koreader directory in .adds. Launching from NickelMenu, both Plato and KOReader opened with KOReader telling me books would be rendered in colour.
