Help Needed: Tolino Vision 6 - MicroSD Card Image and Instructions

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to see if anyone here can help me. I have a Tolino Vision 6 e-reader, but unfortunately, the microSD card inside is damaged.

I’m looking for:

1. An image file of the original system that I can write onto a new microSD card.

2. A step-by-step guide on how to properly write the image to the card and install it back into the device.

If anyone has experience with this or has the required files, I would be extremely grateful for your help!

Thank you so much in advance for taking the time to assist me.

Best regards,
Voldie

My old SD card broke, and I have been trying to get a replacement to boot for a while, but no firmware downloads or instructions how to partition it are available, which effectively makes these SD cards "single use". Mine is too corrupted to copy off it. Anyone solved this or willing to upload a image to mediafire?

In order not to create the impression that all requests remain unanswered.
As for images for tolino,
I always try to send everyone a personal message as quickly as possible.

Hi Ebook fans,

unfortunately my Tolino Vision 6 no longer works. After researching on the Internet, I suspect that the SD card is defective.
I have already removed it and need an image file for version 6B2. I now have a new 64 GB SD card. Previously there was a 16 GB card in it.
Can anyone help?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Since I removed the SD card, the reader doesn't react anymore. Battery doesn't load and no reset possible. The display content is frozen.
Maybe something damaged? Can't see anything.

Unfortunately, I can't spare the time now to write in detail how to read the image of a defective SD card and write it to a new one. I sent you a PM. If you have Windows 11, use the balenaEtcher program to write the image.

@Waldy:
Thank you very much for the file.

Unfortunately, my reader is no longer responding. The display is frozen. The battery is not charging. Pressing the power and down buttons together does not help.
The SD card slot is broken now, too.
I think the reader should at least react when no SD card is installed and display an error message, such as 'Failed to mount or format...', etc.
The PCB is not visibly damaged.
I have no idea what to do or whether soldering a new slot to the PCB would help.
Any ideas?

When the SD card is not installed on the device, everything will look the same as you wrote. Before releasing the SD card from the slot, you should have read a little on the forum about this topic. For example here:https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...5&postcount=35
On the Tolino Vision 6, the SD card is not as easy to remove compared to the Kobo Libra 2.
Take a photo of what your slot looks like. Perhaps the SD card can simply be glued with adhesive tape. On this forum, I saw a photo of one Libra 2 owner who broke the slot and glued the SD card to the motherboard with adhesive tape.

Yes, sorry, I should have read here before tearing it down.
The SD could be easily removed, but the problem was this coating which caused troubles.

I've tried to embed a photo, but it doesn't work.

I already ordered a card slot which could be soldered to the PCB, but not sure if this will work.
