I still disassembled the KOBO Libra2
Because of some problems(Automatic reboot,reboot,reboot......), I decided to remove libra2 and replaced the 128g tf card to enter the system normally. Although libra2 uses a tf card, it is covered with glue, which is probably waterproof glue. If you want to change the card, please be careful~~~ Unfortunately, the problem I want to solve has not been solved. . . too difficult. . . depressed.

Oooh. It's a messy one to replace the sdcard.

Whoa, you de-lidded the entire sdcard slot.
![]() There were some pictures and discussions regarding the microsd in the first impressions thread as well https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=342428 https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...43#post4166043 And some people in German ereader forum managed to remove the microsd card as well (from sister device Tolino Vision 6 which is also part of Rakuten/Kobo family of devices). https://forum.alles-ebook.de/thread/...0020#post90020 (unfortunately it seems you have to register to see this content) However, one of those users also damaged their device in the process. My Libra 2 also had a few reboots but I hope this is a software issue (happened in the past with sickel / watchdog too - the firmware checks for hangs and reboots if it thinks there is a problem) and so far it only happened when hacking around in the telnet shell, not during normal use. So I just hope its a case of the software watchdog being a little trigger happy, it's happened before in older firmwares Last edited by frostschutz; 11-19-2021 at 03:12 AM. |

Thanks for the patch, tried the 30s one, even so I still got a reboot while using the beta browser. Maybe there is a different cause to it, like a memleak somewhere. It's stable when stressing it over USB, I hope that an actual hardware fault would not be so picky.

There's possibly a power delivery shenanigan somewhere, because KOReader users have been reporting reboots (supposedly by the hardware watchdog, since sickel is out) that disappear with the wifi power enabled or the device plugged in...

What type/kind of tape did you use to secure the sdcard to the slot again? |

In addition to tape, a foam pad might also work (so the backplate will apply pressure to it)
or maybe just solder the legs of the lid back on... but its so much stuff so close together you really have to be careful with the iron or maybe just glue the lid itself back on w/o getting glue in the sdcard path or contacts Last edited by frostschutz; 11-19-2021 at 05:16 AM. |

What was the brand name of the original sdcard?

much simpler (I guess) is to use instant glue to put the microsd lid back down
glue is our enemy ![]() after all, soldering is only necessary for electrical connection but the lid has no purpose other than holding the microsd card down just make sure the microsd card itself doesn't stick |
