Change the Blank HTML file
When I choose the menu item "'Add Blank HTML File" Sigil adds a new HTML with this content:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title></title> </head> <body> <p>*</p> </body> </html> I would like to have it add a link to my default style sheet too in the head-section: <link href="main.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet"/> Is that possible? |

Should be possible by creating a template and storing it in your Sigil Preferences location.
Full details are in the Sigil User Guide but roughly speaking, you edit the existing new xhtml page to your liking and then save it as user-template2.xhtml (for epub2 files) or user-template3.xhtml (for epub3 files) to your Sigil Preferences location. You can do the same for a custom CSS template file. To find your Sigil Preferences location, in Sigil go to Plugins > Manage Plugins and click the button, "Open Preferences Location", at the bottom left Last edited by philja; 05-04-2025 at 03:02 AM. Reason: add info on Preferences location |

Oké Philja. Should be easy... I will give it a try.
Update: YES! This works. That's great. Thanks again. ![]() Last edited by pieterratering; 05-04-2025 at 03:30 AM. |
