Can no longer launch KUAL
I jailbroke my PW (1) ages ago (maybe a year or two) and everything has been working fine. A few days ago, I started getting "This item is not signed by an authorized developer" messages when trying to launch KUAL.

I saw there were some KUAL-related updates but I have tried to install everything mentioned and I can't get anything to actually run/install. I replaced the KUAL azw3 file with a new one, but none of the .bin files will be recognized buy the kindle as an update.

Can anyone tell me how I'm supposed to fix/update this?
Do I need to start over and re-jailbreak, etc?

You need to update the developer keystore. Download the zip, copy the appropriate one for your Kindle to the mrpackages directory and then run MRPI via ;log mrpi in the search.

I thought I had to update the certs, but nowhere did it tell me exactly how to do that.

Hello Dave, I been tackling this for the last two hours with no fruition, any help would be appreciated.

I have 2013 PW1.

I download the Updated (April) Kual from Snapshot and placed the AZW2 to DOCUMENTS.

I replaced the "developer.keystore" in MKK folder

I downloaded "DevCerts-20250419-KeyStore" and placed the "k5-ALL" to MRPackage in the Paperwhite foot directory and ran ";log mrpi" but nothing is showing ... and by clicking KUAL it still said "This item is not signed by an authorized developer ..."

I have also tried "k4-All" with the same result, ;log mrpi is not responding at all.

Was MRPI working before this? Perhaps something happened to your JB. Were you protected against a firmware update? Check and see what firmware you are on to see if it has changed.

I would try installing the latest hotfix for your device and firmware and see if that helps. Beyond that I would check the posts regarding snapshots and KUAL at the top of the forum.

I hope you can get things back into operation.

Last time I even touched MRPI was last October to install display book cover, so it should be working. It is a old Paperwhite 1st Gen, so it's forever stuck on 5.6.

I tried the hotfix (placing the Bin file in mrpackage and search ;log mrpi) and showing nothing. Pressing enter simply return me to the home page.

All the things I tried:

1. Download the newest KUAL from snapshot, place the azw2 file to DOCUMENTS
2. Replace the keystore in the MKK folder
3. Place the UPDATE_Booklet_*_Install bin file to mrpackage folder and tried ;log mrpi.
4. Place the UPDATE_BOOKLET_HOTFIX_*_Install bin file to mrpackage folder and tried ;log mrpi.

Have you tried placing one of the *_Install.bin files in the root of your Kindle and then seeing if they show as an update?
