I'm waiting for Midsummer Murders to finish with season 25 and then I'll get an Acorn account and binge seasons 24 & 25. I may only go for a 1 or 2 moth subscription and then cancel.

I'll be binging Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU in order to catch up to the crossover episodes. I'm up to episode 13 of both.

Apparently it isn't a direct spin-off, however it was made by the people behind The X-Files. Plus, after Millennium got cancelled it got a cross-over episode on The X-Files to give Millennium sort of an ending.

I just had a look at other series I watched during the mid 90s and a lot of them started in 1996. Millennium, but also Profiler, Poltergeist: The Legacy and Psi-Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal (with Dan Aykroyd as the host). An honorable mention to Buffy The Vampire Slayer, released in 1997. I looked if any were released DVD, they are but only available at extortionate prices. unfortunately. Except Buffy, the box set is readily available, so that's added to my wishlist.

Oh, and don't forget my all-time favourite tv show - Angel (1999) - a spinoff of Buffy.
I have both DVD box sets. It's a shame there are no higher quality Bluray versions as 480i and 576i upscaled to 2160 for a 4k tv looks crappy, as it does for pretty much all dvd's nowadays.

What TV do you have? Some TVs upscale better then others. Also, some TVs upscale better then a disc player. So you might want to let the TV upscale instead of the disc player.

In the past, there has never been a role played by Kevin Bacon that I have liked. Prime's "The Bondsman" has done absolutely nothing to change that. In his defense: gore is not really my thing.

I've started A Remarkable Place to Die - billed as a NZ police procedural/who-dunit - but it's more like the Hallmark Channel meets the Brokenwood Mysteries - very bland rom-com story lines set in stunning NZ landscapes - probably won't continue.

*and I agree with your Kevin Bacon comments - disappointed with Bondsman*

We finished the third season of Yellowjackets. It felt this season was the beginning of the end, that next season we see the girls being saved and how they hide what happened during their time in the wilderness and if it all comes out in the current timeline. I liked this season better than the second season.

I think over the next couple of days we're going to watch a couple of movies that have been on our watchlist for a while. On Easter Monday it's going to be rainy most of the day, so a good day for curling up on the couch with something to watch.

Ahhh ... life is good - in addition to new episodes of Chelsea Detective, the new season of Brokenwood Mysteries has landed in the USA - I fell in love with this quirky "Murder She Wrote" set in NZ.

I don't see the parallel with MSW - more like Midsomer but with a much more interesting cast of recurring characters.

True - I was reminded of MSW killing off so many town residents before starting to import victims - but MM also works

On Monday we watched the William Tell movie. Which didn't work for me. The costumes and setting were beautiful, the acting wasn't. The dialogue was weirdly inconsistent. Sometimes almost sounding like something from Shakespeare and then in the next scene switching to a totally different style (same characters). Apparently one speech was almost verbatim lifted from another movie. Overall I think they tried to emulate Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, but they fell flat in most areas.

We're currently watching The Residence on Netflix. Although it's entertaining it tries too hard to be the next Only Murders in the Building crossed with Knives Out.

There is a delicious new series on Britbox - I, Jack Wright -- an eccentric millionaire with 3 marriages dies/commits suicide/is murdered - and leaves the will from Hell to roil up the expended family - wonderful characters - looks like fun!

Having not watched the others, The Residence worked well for me.

Thanks for the tip, sounds good - hoping for a 99 cent Britbox deal on Prime day to catch up on a few series.
