Sort by series is not necessary now, it was necessary when series were not present in the ereader.

Perhaps that collections based on series were needed in the old days when Kobo ereaders did not support series so no series shown in the book list and no searching on series. Now that series are supported, collections based on series are redundant and unnecessary. BTW, series can be sorted by Series Title, Recent and Number of books (though a rather useless sort unless you have an interest in which series have the most books stored on your Kobo).

Ah, I now understand my confusion. Series in Collections are generated by the plugin and a remainder of the past. I knew that, but forgot
So, yes they are redundant (but I still use them sometimes ).

Series 'Number of books' is a bit confusing label.
If you choose that, then you can then sort by Book number (AKA series_index) or Recent
I suspect the label is it makes no sense if you only have 1 book in a series (loaded).

Yes, that's one of my issues with series: a lot of entries with only 1 book. That's the reason I adapted the script davidfor wrote long ago to remove series with only 1 book.

Is hat because you never got any more books in those series or they never turned out to be series?

How hard would it be to have the time written as hours and minutes instead of seconds? That way no need to program and no need for more columns.

Mostly former. But a few cozy mystery series seem to fizzle out after the first book (e.g. this one).

Calibre, I removed the abandoned series. I like to keep them otherwise though. I have saved search for them.

Yes, he included the query in the thread or some message (I don't remember exactly when) and I adapted it in my plugin.

Just a note that I do have plans to make configuring a custom column for the reading times easier, I just need to find the time for it, and there are a few other things I want to get done first.

Also, having the raw seconds available is important for uses cases other than just displaying the time in its own column, for example I use that time together with the Count Pages plugin to calculate the reading speed for a book. Having to convert the time back and forth between different formats, especially if it's customizable, would make things much more complicated and also potentially lossy.
