Should the store be opening up when clicking on it? I haven't deleted the mesquito folder, but the amazon store shows up when I click it.

In https://kindlemodding.org/jailbreaki...g-up-a-hotfix/ you have the whole process step by step. Follow it.

Follow these steps to update the Hotfix:

Activate airplane mode
Enable OTA update (KUAL -> Rename OTA binaries -> Restore)
Follow the Hotfix installation instructions above
Disable OTA update (KUAL -> Rename OTA binaries -> Rename)

Do it again? If I do it again, would I have to do all the rest of it too, like mrpi too?

One of the fixes in the newest hotfix was to keep the 'book' from moving to the front.

Hello! First of all, thanks for the new jailbreak method! I've been waiting for it.

But I come here for help. I have a Paperwhite 10th and even though I am able to perform the first part successfully (Jailbreak), the others don't work.

I can install the Update for the hotfix but then the "Run Hotfix" book does not appear. I read that some user continued and installed KUAL & MRPI and after that "Run Hotfix" book appeared but not for me. When I search for ";log mrpi" nothing happens either.

Any idea? Kindle is registered and never jailbroken.

You have to rename OTA binaries first, explained in the site.

Thanks for replying but I don't get it.

I have followed step by step as the guide says. There is no step that mentions renaming other than the troubleshoot section. Maybe it is because I'm not familiar with the jailbreak scene but what does it mean "Enable OTA update (KUAL -> Rename OTA binaries -> Restore)"? I don't have KUAL installed as far as I know. "Rename OTA binaries" means to change the name of the .bin file to whatever or it is an actual option somewhere?

Thank you again! Maybe this can help more people.

That's all I care about, and that's what I've done on my KOA2. I'd like to be sure that I'll be able to do the same with a recent kindle and that there aren't any limitations I don't understand.

Thanks in advance,
First, I want to thank everyone responsible for a new jailbreak!!!

Second, before jumping from 5.11.2 on a PW4, is there a list of working hacks?

Much like the OP, I'm after
+ KUAL (per JB OP)
+ MRPI (per JB OP)
+ KOReader (sounds like this is a yes with recent kindlehf builds)
- Screensaver (current book cover)
- Collections (supporting Calibre)
- Fonts
- USBNetwork

Thanks again,
Homer

Fired up my MR Search-fu. Can someone let me know if it is right?

Updating list (+ = working, - = needs testing, O = not sure)

- Screensaver (current book cover) - seems to work in at least 5.16.2.1.1 (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...29#post4468129)
- USBNetwork -> kindle-usbnetlite (https://github.com/notmarek/kindle-usbnetlite) see also https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...te#post4481266
- Fonts -> For your device, you don’t need a hack. Just put the fonts to fonts/ directory (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...60#post4150460)

O Collections (supporting Calibre)

And I would also like to know if there is a way to remove ads through jailbreak? In which case I can buy the cheapest PW, the one with ads.

AFAIK - No, every jailbreak or hack I've seen respects Am&zon's revenue stream. Nothing draws the lightning faster than stolen money.

I bought both of mine on sale and then ponied up to Am&zon to remove the ads.

I tried so many times, there is something important or this jailbreak doesn't work as intended for PW4 5.16.8 . Its either unexpected error or Kindle Store,I made every step again and again, factory reseted and nothing.
Can anybody help?

Those two hacks are not really relevant nowadays as the functionality they provide is now supported out-of-the-box in the official firmwares.
