Dont see how that's possible, Preferences is number 9 at line 345 in gui2/__init__.py and running calibre with an empty config does indeed have it at position 9 as expected.
I'm fine with a default off option for all actions on the status bar. Though at that point why not just use a keyboard shortcut for the regular all actions action? If we set a keyboard shortcut by default support queries can be answered with press teh shortcut <whatever> and choose the appropriate action. |

Having a default shortcut is good. What about Ctrl+Alt+Shift+G? Or something else of your choice? |

@BR: I will move the "white space" context menu items to the tag browser config menu.

IMO the following would have been a better way to incorporate Preferences into All actions Added: the Preferences flyout menu would be at the right edge of course. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 01-10-2025 at 08:35 AM. |

Grok as in Heinlein's Stranger In A Strange Land. Nothing to do with cherry picking. You're reaching.
I don't give a sh*t what use Elon Musk makes of the term. Re the shortcut: the item on the top level menu. Last edited by chaley; 01-10-2025 at 06:23 PM. Reason: Spelling |

So, why are there items for Toolbars and Keyboard Shortcuts on the All actions menu, rather than say items for Look & feel and Tweaks.
Ah-hah - I just discovered the items in the five Built in calibre actions flyout menus pop the relevant drop down menus. Seeing my shortcuts on those items misled me into thinking that selecting Preferences would pop the matrix of icons, but it pops the Preferences drop down. Likewise because Convert books shows Ctrl+Alt+C, I assumed it would pop the conversion dialogue, instead it pops the Convert books drop down (the one that includes Create catalogue). Added: Yet there's this: I also suggest that "Main dialogue" should be "Change calibre behavior", as it is elsewhere. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 01-10-2025 at 07:57 PM. |
