Sir Hereward and Mister Fitz by Garth Nix is $2 in the US. (Kobo, Amazon) A collection of all previously-published stories featuring these characters, with a new one at the end. Was on my wishlist. Gary K. Wolfe calls them "[one of the] most prominent current descendants" of the Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser stories. Quote:

Deryni Rising, by Katherine Kurtz, is on sale for $1.99 at Amazon. This is the first book (in publication order, which is the right way to read them) in her Deryni novels. |

I just bought The Last Blade Priest by W P Wiles for £0.80 on the UK Kindle Store. It's a bit of an odd price for a UK sale, so could be an error? Or it could be that it's $0.99 in the US? I was annoyed with myself for missing it at £1.49 earlier in the year, when I took too long to make my mind up. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Last-Blade-.../dp/B09G9CHSD2 |

Is there rhyme or reason to the times of day that prices change, either at Amazon or Kobo, whether US, UK, CA, FR, DE or wherever? I'd always assumed it must be midnight local time, but some recent price checking has taught me that I was mistaken; a price advertised at, say, 10 a.m. GMT has changed by noon GMT, on both Kobo and Amazon. Sometimes the heading above specials will say something to the effect of "Hurry! These prices end tonight!" I don't recall whether a specific hour is named, but if it was, for example, midnight, and you're in North America, which midnight? East coast midnight, west coast midnight, other? I know that US daily deals cycle around 9AM UTC. I missed it the day earlier, and by the time Kobo handled my price match request, the price was already up, but they agreed to give me the credit.
