I'm trying to sync KOReader and Kobo reading percentage thanks to Calibre.

KOReader column is a float. Kobo column is an integer. What shout I do please?

Note that the kobo reading percentage and the kobo reading position are barely related.
The actual reading position is a tag, not a number.

If you just want them to look the same, this can be done. But if you want to set the reading position on the kobo from the percentage, this is messy and probably not currently possible without adding some code. And I'm not sure the store/restore bookmark is working right now anyway. Some cursory testing recently leads me to believe it isn't working.

It works for stock Kobo. If you mean KOReader, I don't know.

Calibre Kobo Utilities is using the Kobo database. AFAIK KOreader has its own database so the Kobo Utilities stuff to read or write book status, position, etc isn't going to work with KOReader. Nor of course annotations, highlight and bookmark fetch from Kobo.

KOReader uses a file browser, not the Kobo database. It saves stuff separately. It can use a Calibre file for search, but it's clumsy. I'll re-install KOReader when it supports metadata based browsing like Kindle & Kobo native readers do. I used it for a while for PDF cropping and still use it on my Mars Android eink as its native reader is terrible for epub, though oddly as good or better than KOReader or reMarkable for PDFs, but like them only file browsing.

Kobo Utilities has nothing to do with KOReader. If you want Kobo Utilities to take not of your reading position(s), you will have to stop using KOReader and go back to using the stock reading software that comes with the Kobo firmware.

Help!

I have set up 4 custom columns in Kobo Utilities to synch ReadingPercent, ReadingLocation, LastReadDate and KoboRating.

Until Version Calibre Version 7.x these updated without fail. I can no longer get the fields to update, but when I query the kobo database using Kobo Utilities "Store/Restore Current Bookmark" command the data appears in the KoboUtilities confirmationdialog box, but the calibre database does not update.

Anyone else had this problem or know of a work around?

Is it just me? Since Calibre V7.x my custom columns have stopped working (% read, rating, position and lastreaddate). The plug in can see the data from the Kobo when I use the "Store/restore current bookmark" command in the menu, but the database fields do not update. Anyone else have this issue?

Does the update work if you try setting the device to the default *Any Device setting? And perhaps change the Profile to default? There have been several reports that after firmware updates and other changes, the device is no longer seen under the device name. Ditto for the named profiles.
