Please make jailbreak for kindle paperwhite 1 firmware 5.6.1.1
I have kindle paperwhite 1 which I downgraded to 5.4.4.2 and applied the jailbreak. However, downgrading broke my amazon sign in so no matter what I tried my previously logged in account (before downgrade) didn't work as I couldn't see my books in the cloud and also couldn't send documents to kindle via email. I deregistered and then tried to register but no matter what I did it still didn't sign in forcing me to upgrade to 5.6.1.1 in which the problem continued until miraculously at the tenth try it registered so now, I am frightened of downgrading to 5.4.4.2. please help.

You should downgrade
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=264432 then jailbreak https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=186645 and upgrade to 5.6.1.1 back. JB will survive. |

Downgrade firmware > jailbreak it > do 2-3 reboots > upgrade firmware to 5.6.1.1 > do 2-3 reboots (to let jailbreak bridge restore everything) > now try signing into your Amazon account.

By the way: A jail-break is always exploiting a serious security failure on the device to affect a right escalation. So once known it will have to be fixed also for security reasons.
That also means that jailbreaking a device will usually require a somewhat complicated downgrade -> jailbreak -> upgrade process. Annoying. The only way to avoid this is to avoid vendor-lock-in devices such as the kindle. That is also why "please make a jailbreak for x.x.x" won't work. A jailbreak appears, when a critical security flaw is found. This is then exploited and the version will be updated to fix this. |
