Yeah, I hate it when I dump a subverted repository with the duex three times in the file...or something.

Not sure which I'm more annoyed about at present:
Being out of bed on a Monday morning, or,
Being stuck in a windowless office on a gloriously sunny day.

Obviously, best case scenario would be to lie in bed with the curtains wide and the window open for a couple of hours then go out and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.

That's how it is with Scottish weather isn't it? Cold, dark and rainy at weekends and on holidays when you're planning a day out and warm and sunny during the week!

I work from home and I can sit and look out the window at least, but it is severely testing my self-control. At least it's time for lunch!

if it makes you feel better, that's how it is in paris too. although to sun does seem to have gone abruptly behind a cloud just now...

well, it seems to be back already, although how long that will last is anybody's guess... as for the ducklings, we have an expression in french, when it's pouring down rain we say "nice weather for ducks" ! so i guess they don't mind the rain too much...

What's worse is being in a corner office with 2 of your walls being floor to ceiliing windows. On gloriously sunny days you're reminded ALL DAY LONG of how gorgeous it is on the other side of the glass, gazing out and daydreaming of all the fun things you could be doing out there. It's gloriously sunny here alot, so I'm tormented nearly every day.

Lots of idioms for ducks. Two of the better known ones:

Lovely weather for ducks, or Fine weather for ducks.
Cliché a greeting meaning that this unpleasant rainy weather must be good for something. Bill: Hi, Bob. How do you like this weather? Bob: Lovely weather for ducks. Sally: What a lot of rain! Tom: Yeah. Lovely weather for ducks. Don't care for it much myself.

Haven't heard of that one, but I should have included this one:

duck (down)
to stoop down quickly, as if to avoid being hit. He ducked down when he heard the gunshot. Duck down and get out of the way
