I've only read 10% of the first book but so far it's really grabbed me. The main character has an interesting back story and plausible motivations and the setting is good. We're about to enter a new location so let's hope it keeps it up. Based on what I've read I'd recommend it.

Anyone ever read the Outremer books by Chaz Brenchley? I'd heard good things about them, but they weren't available as ebooks. They've just been released.

These are the American editions, so instead of three big books, it will be six smaller ones. The first three are now available.

I bought the first three since I've been on the look-out for so long. But I'd like to know if anyone here read them and if so, what you thought.

I haven't, but I know there's excitement they're back, and it's a good publisher (that frequently discounts its other series, the Green Man books by Juliet E. McKenna.)

Ugh, I read the first book just recently. It felt like Neil Gaiman without the wonder.
