I do think that for those of us that saw it new, when it was first released, when we were young(er) it's moved into a spot in our hearts unoccupied by other movies. Just something about it, I guess. Between Andre the Giant, Mandy Patinkin IDK. Can't explain it. Hitch |

Tonight's film was The Cellar (2022) with Elisha Cuthbert. It was okay. For whatever reason I just didn't like Elisha Cuthbert, not sure why. I also found the story dragged a bit.

I watched The Haunting, which I know will send me down the haunted house movie rabbit hole. I now need to watch House on Haunted Hill, which was released in the same year as The Haunting, was also inspired by (although remotely) by Shirley Jackson's novel and is even worse than The Haunting. Though not as bad as Return to House on Haunted Hill (2007).
I'm going through lists of "best haunted house movies", but I've either seen them or I'm not interesting in watching them. So tomorrow I'll probably go on a hunt of "recommended if you like this movie" on IMDB, that usually turns up something I haven't seen before. |

I have been binge watching Succession (HBO Max) since Friday. I wanted to watch it for Matthew Macfadyen. His character is a dork, but funny, and mean at times. It was hard to watch the first two episodes and then I got hooked. I am now on series 3, episode 6 (9 episodes in 3rd season). I loved the second season, but the start of the 3rd was tiresome with the same juggling of which child Logan wants to be CEO and President of the company. There are some good locations for the show, but the photography is sub par in my opinion. The new season 4 will be start on March 26th.
There are no good characters in this, and yet I've been hooked. Spoiled grown kids who are messed up and were brought up badly. Logan is a monster, a maniac executive. I think the creators had Rupert Murdoch in mind. |

Currently working through all series of 'Hill Street Blues' which my wife and I used to watch on Friday nights when it was originally shown. Watching one episode per day and it still stands up well for its age,as a decent 'cop show' for TV!

Hill Street Blues was shown between 1981 and 1987. Yes, a long time ago, but as I said it still stands up well for its storytelling and its pace!

I finished watching Succession (all 3 seasons) on Friday. The plot is pretty repetitious in the 3rd season since it is all about the father changing his mind about which kid can take over the business, the scheming and fighting among the family. But there were some good settings, with Tuscany in the last two episodes.
I watched Vera S12 E2 (Brenda Blethyn) (Britbox). I love that show. I re-watched The King's Speech from 2010 that aired on my PBS station Saturday. I recorded it on dvr but it didn't record beyond one hour 35 minutes, so I switched over to Amazon Prime where it is available. I had seen it at the movies. |

Over the weekend my sister and I watched the first half of the final season of Doom Patrol. It was okay. The series has become overly complicated IMHO. I don't mind the silliness but there are too many story lines going on, I'm afraid that the series ends with an unsatisfying cliffhanger.

I've been watching the French TV program Astrid (In France it is Astrid et Raphaelle) the past two evenings on PBS Passport. We get the first season of it there. PBS Masterpiece (Amazon) has the first two seasons. A friend told me about it.
