I finished watching Little Dorrit Saturday. It was my second time watching (first was in 2009) and I remembered why I liked this so much. Claire Foy and Matthew McFadyen were so good in this together. There are 8 episodes on Britbox, but it says 14. But it was over at the end of episode 8. The others had descriptions of parts of the show that I'd seen in the first 8. It also had a charge for episodes 9-14. I don't know why that had it listed that way.

I binge-watched the 1995 version of Pride & Prejudice (BBC with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth) on Sunday. I had seen it at least a few times and it was always my favorite version of P&P. This time I enjoyed parts of it but overall not as much as before. I got tired of hearing Elizabeth's mother and other ridiculous, silly characters.

Last night I watched the first episode in the new series 12 of Vera (Brenda Blethyn) on Britbox. Very enjoyable and it was so good to see a new episode of this wonderful show.

It's always been my favorite, but I confess that yes, the existence of Mrs. Bennet and Kitty and LYDIA makes it hard to binge-watch. The actress that so convincingly portrayed Mrs. Bennet--let's not kid ourselves, she was brilliant, but man, nails on a chalkboard by the time you get to the 2nd episode!

Today I started a re-watch of Yellowjackets in preparation for the second season.

I also watched Blade II, which I liked better than the first film. Tomorrow I'm probably going to watch the third one. I thought I hadn't seen that one yet, but I'm now thinking I might have.

I'm thinking it might also be fun to watch some Billy Connolly, it's been a really long time since I watched one of his stand up shows. When I was at university in the UK (20 years ago) we discovered him and I got most/all dvd's. He cheered us up when we needed cheering. It'll be fun to revisit some of his shows.

I'm just about done with available episodes of Vera, a Brit crime drama on Britbox. Also, still (yes still) working my way through NCIS.

Tonight's viewing:

Blade: Trinity. Nope. Snipes obviously wanted to be anywhere else but filming that movie. Ryan Reynold played his usual role of Ryan Reynolds. Parker Posey's vampire dentures were too big and she walked around like she pooped her pants. The whole movie just didn't work for me.

Burlesque (I can hear Hitch shouting: "Finally"). I liked it, but didn't love it. Which is something to do with Christina Aguilera. There are times that I love her way of singing and there are other times I'm not too wild about it. I guess I'm in the latter period at the moment.

For whatever reason I really want to watch The Haunting (with Liam Neeson), which isn't a good movie but a very entertaining one for me. Unfortunately it isn't available on any streaming in the Netherlands (only as a rent or buy). So I guess I have to wait until I get home and dig out the DVD.

Tomorrow I might watch a couple of movies which I should have watched when I was a young, but for whatever reason never did. The Princess Bride and The Lost Boys.

I agree with all of that! It's a shame, really and if Reynolds had been toned down, if Parker Posey had too a bit and if Snipes had actually shown up, it mighta worked.

I didn't know anything about "Xtina," when I saw that movie, so I didn't know what to expect. (I mean, for crying out loud, look what they did to "A Star is Born" with Lady Gaga! I didn't know if the star-must-go-on meme was actually going to feature someone who could sing...) and I admit it, I was blown away with that much sound, that much talent, out of such a teeny girl! I was pretty gobsmacked, I admit it. That girl got whacked with the Voice stick. And hell, she can dance, too. Sorry you didn't enjoy it more.

I go off/on with that one too. It's odd. Sometimes, I like it and sometimes I want to smack Eleanor in the head.

Wait. Are you saying that you've never seen The Princess Bride? (Say it ain't so?!) Or do you mean, you didn't see it, as a child (?), when you should have? No universe should exist in which someone hasn't see TPB at least..oh, gosh, I don't know, a dozen times? Easy? The (allegedly) only 'perfect' movie?

I watched Stonehouse about the MP who faked his death. Very strange man. 3 episodes. Matthew Macfadyen, Keeley Hawes. Britbox.

I tried, but something just didn't click for me. I didn't dislike it, by any means. I just felt like the whole premise was lost on me.

I know, we're all dopey to like it, but, for those of us that can admit our 12Step problems, like that show, I thought I'd mention it. ("I'm powerless over socially-inept white UK Inspectors...")

I read about it, in all places, in some oddball article online, while I was phone-skimming--went over there last night-ish to confirm and dang if the first two weren't already up, even tho the article said Friday the 3rd. So...enjoy, everybody.

Okay, so today I watched The Princess Bride and I might have seen it. But I'm sure my parents never got/rented it for me, since I was never the princess type of girl. So I assume I've either seen it on TV or my parents rented it for my sister, who much more a girly girl. On the other hand I might have seen bits and pieces on TV and/or the internet.

Did I enjoy the movie: yes, it was really good. Was it the best movie I've ever seen? I don't know. It isn't my favourite, that's either, depending on my mood, The Silence of the Lambs and The Crow.
