If you install 'PRS Customizer' to your 505 then it will add the time to the status bar as you were hoping.

The only design change I would make (after having used the customizer - lovely bit of work, that) would be to make the 505 a little less slippery. Sometimes the case is a bit bulky to hold, so I like holding just the reader while reading, and if you are holding the reader over your head while lying on your back, occasionally I lose my grip and get bonked in the nose.

I have considered applying thin rubbery strips to the sides and back for grip, but haven't found any that would not be ugly when placed on my very pretty reader. Overall, I like the look, the buttons work as I want since I used the customizer, and the page turn speed is fast enough. And mine is BLUE!! ![]() Mare |

Seriously, don't fear the Customizer. I was afraid until last month, but regret not doing it as soon as I got my 505. The clock and right-hand turns using the arrow button made it much more user friendly. The Customizer doesn't use the command prompt, which I confess scares me. It has a user-friendly screen with check boxes, and just automatically installs the clock as a sort of "gift."

Three improvements I would like to see, that I haven't seen mentioned in this thread:

	1. Whiter background. 2. Teensy detachable light to clip on the long edge of the left cover (and not have it scratch the screen), so we can leave it on when we shut the Reader. 3. Right page turn buttons not so recessed. For me, it gives a slight bad feeling to my thumb's pod where I press. I "fixed" this complaint by applying a glue-on piece of soft plastic, sold as a furniture bumper guard. I like sync'ing. About every two days, I open Calibre to get magazines and newspapers, then open Sony's eBook Library and add those files. Then about once a week I connect the Sony Reader and voila, it's loaded. Having said that, I also have duplicate files and don't know the solution, other than removing each duplicate (the one with the longer directory structure, I think it has a "/1" directory) from the Reader. And wait for Sony to fix this. |

I would like the buttons, esp the page turn buttons to be more sensitive, as right now, it takes quite a bit of strength to press them down

I find that closing the cover 'clicks' one of the number buttons too easily so that when I pick it back up I need to press the menu button to back out of that.
