Every time I’ve spoken to Alexa this morning, she’s responded by first saying, “Howdy. And good morning.” Make it stop! I’ve never interacted with her on a quote unquote personal level. Why, Jeff, why?

And a minor quibble in the great annoyance, howdy? This is New England! Fingernails on chalkboard stuff.

Oh, gosh yes, that "feature" needs an off switch. I guess there is some lonely cat lady (no offense, Catlady) somewhere who likes all the pointless chatting, but Geesh!
I suspect if Jeff himself was actually personally involved at all, he'd do it better.

I keep wanting to write a feature request letter to Amazon, but I always open it "Dear mindless idiots," and so stop myself. Flies and honey, you know.

I'm currently in the process of getting cheated out of the previous generation Dot I ordered at the sale price of $24.99 this past Friday. Now unavailable, of course. They keep pushing the shipping date, and today I received notice that I need to indicate whether I still wish to wait (they don't know when, or if, it might ship). If you didn't have any to sell, you shouldn't have sold one to me.

At the point of sale, it was supposed to be delivered the next day.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure that's why they don't want to ship me a 4th gen. There was no indication when I purchased that supplies were running out, yet here they are trying really hard to get me to cancel my order.

Huh. They’re willing to sell one to me at that price, going by the web page. Are they just taking orders blindly and figure they’ll see where the dust settles?

The only 4th Gen dots I was seeing (yesterday) at $24.99 were labeled as "International versions". I wasn't sure what that meant. The non-international version was what I ordered (and what was showing as unavailable when last I looked yesterday). I see what I ordered is available again today for $24.99, but the delivery window says Oct 20 - 21. The International version says By Oct 14.

They claim they're going to cancel my order if it doesn't ship by the 18th (unless I sign in and click some extra buttons). I'm not certain WTH is going on at this point.

Yesterday, I saw them in-stock for $25. Today, they're unavailable.

Their constant changing of shipping dates is very lame, to say the least. I think Amazon oversold them and aren't willing to fess up to what they did.

They accepted your order for a $25 Gen 4 Dot and now they're trying to back out of the deal. To rectify this, Amazon needs to substitute Gen 5 Dot's for everyone they cancel orders on.

I'm still getting the runaround on this order. I was required to login in to my account and "approve" the delay (whatever the heck that means) or they were going to cancel my order tomorrow (10/18/22).

Before anybody asks: no this wasn't a phishing email. I followed no email links whatsover (even though I checked the email's headers to make sure the dkim and spf sigs were valid). I went directly to Amazon.com and logged in from there. The approval process seemed ... odd, to say the least. A "Thank you for approving" message was emailed to me after, but my Amazon orders page still shows that "Action is required on one or more of your orders." I fear I'm going to have to break down and call someone.

So that happened. Pretty-much no clarity on the issue. They immediately wanted to cancel the order and get a new one set up, but I stopped them when they confirmed that there was no $24.99 option currently available. She WAS able to confirm that they had received my "approval" of the delay (even though my account page still looks like I haven't), so I told them to simply let the order stand. I'll wait

Customer support's computers showed absolutely no time frame on when it might ship. I'm in no hurry. I'm going to to try and wait them out until someone says, "just ship him one for $24.99 and be done with it!"

LOL! Yep, they pretty much do what they want. I'm pretty sure they think we are their pet humans and that they are in charge. Unfortunately I had to say goodbye to my last little fur ball last week as old age finally took her at age 19. Too quiet around the house now.
