Many years ago I stubbed my toe on my lifecycle. I broke the toe bone, but even though I went to the doctor, there was nothing to do but tape it to the next toe. I had an x-ray. It was many years ago.

Yeah, that's pretty much what my doctor said too, re-breaking it and then taping it up. But it wasn't guaranteed to fix it (and a not-insignificant chance of making it worse) so I decided to spare myself. Last edited by ownedbycats; 10-10-2022 at 02:06 AM. |

On the ubiquitous broken little toe, shrug, just tape it up and hang on until it heels. I think my figures there are three times on one side, twice on the other. H

I stubbed my big toe when I was 9 and broke it. They didn't even tape it, just gave me crutches and told me to stay off of it.

At Creaky--an official age--they take 3 months to heal and then you rebreak them 3x more over the next 6 months. Not kidding! Hitch

Otherwise competent adults who somehow manage to leave a halo of food around them on the floor wherever they eat. Every. Single. Time. I swear I'm going to buy a drop cloth to put under their chair when they visit!

I won't tell you what I did, and how long it took, to find a very similar cheap, thin rug and place it OVER the real one, nearly-unnoticeably, and put Gran's chair on that one! Hitch

Weirdly enough, I didn't even notice a smell from the flea stuff (though Parkinson's and post-COVID might've done a number on my olfactory senses). The scent things are gone now at least. Last edited by ownedbycats; 10-11-2022 at 11:26 PM.

It's cute (but also a little annoying) that you think telling me "not to worry about it" has any bearing whatsoever on whether or not I do. I don't have an un-worry switch. And even if I did, I highly doubt your (or anyone's) voice would flip it.

Sometimes it's hard to stay retired. People keep waiving money under my nose. The latest bait was working in the same town I live in, at more money per hour than I've ever made. I'm only human, and so I said - submit. |

I am happily retired, and no amount of money could induce me to step back onto the treadmill. In fact I have so many things that I do regularly (yes,I know it's a cliche!) I don't know how I used to find the time to go to work!
