Kindle download
Hi team,

I am looking at downloading a book from Amazon, but before i do i want to make sure i can import in to Calibre before i cough up $$.

Don't want to have to download more software as i love my Calibre as it does everything i want it to do.

If you have a Kindle, you can use Transfer and download via USB from Manage your content and media.

If you do not have a Kindle, you'll need to install Kindle. And for that, I suggest you read this thread all about Kindle.

If the eBook has DRM, you'll need the DeDRM plugin for Calibre to be able to remove the DRM.

Except if you download a KFX format ebook, you will get DRM regardless of the wishes of the publisher.

Yes, enhanced typesetting will attempt to deliver KFX.

As far as I've seen, Amazon does not supply KFX without DRM. If your device/application will handle KFX, that will be the preferred download. The workarounds are either to use Download and Transfer via USB or to use a K4* application with either no KFX support or KFX support disabled.
