From what I was informed, the STIX fonts are supposed to show up on a Kobo devices with notebooks enabled (Elipsa and Sage at this time) where they are used to translate handwritten mathematics to text.

The formula conversion/recognition on Sage/Elipsa in Advanced notebooks does work and does use mathematical symbols.
Kobo seem to have bought in a licence for Nebo handwriting recognition, which seems to be one of the best for Android or iOS tablets with true high resolution stylus/pens.

Just updated my Libra 2 to 4.32. no STIX font. Even the Kobo Nickel seemed chaged. It is ugly now unlike before
