Manage C/D discrepancies
When I go to Content and Devices on the Amazon site and select Devices then select my Oasis then show device content I cannot get it to show everything that is on the device. It will only show one category, i.e. books, docs, whatever.
What is does show doesn't exactly match in sort order between the two either. How can you get it to show everything on the device and in matching order? |

Books seems like a reasonable default to me, as that the most common type people are likely to want to interact with. (True for me anyway) If you are managing Books and Docs, then filter the Kindle to match what CD is showing. You can change the Sort order. If you are comparing CD with your Kindle, you need to put them in the same order, and that should be possible with either Title or Author. Kindle platform doesn’t know what CD’s Created/Acquired Date means, so you cannot use that sort order on CD. Likewise, CD doesn’t know what Recent sort order means, so you cannot use that on your Kindle. Last edited by tomsem; 03-22-2022 at 05:59 PM. |

You might try Author sort, which will not have the The issue, but for a given author, the secondary order on Title will be different. (However, perhaps 1 out of 100 downloaded books — always the same books —lack displayable/sortable/searchable author metadata, and thus appear at the end of Author sort. Oddly once you remove the downloads for the book, author becomes visible/searchable/sortable) In my exploration, I discovered 2 issues with one of my Kindles: - In C/D Title sort, 5 books appeared at the top where they did not belong - C/D showed about 5 more books than were actually on the Kindle Both of these issues cleared up when I requested the offending books be Removed from the Kindle in C/D. After re-downloading, the count remains in sync and the Title sort works as expected. (IIRC there was a period of time when my Default Kindle — which was the one above at the time — got ‘charged’ with the download even though Deliver To Library was selected when making a web purchase) I found similar ‘overcount’ issue for Kindle app on my iPad mini. Here I was able to do ‘deep sync’ (go to MORE and choose Sync there), and the overcount went away. Last edited by tomsem; 03-23-2022 at 06:25 PM. |
