I just picked up a used Oasis 3 last week with cover and charging stuff. $155 + tax. I was so proud of myself. Still like my Voyage too but not sure that I need two so will likely sell or give away. I do miss the origami case. The cloth one is ok though. Anyone have a favorite cover for your Oasis?

It is interesting that we don’t even have a “Paperwhite 4 First Impressions” thread (for people who have gotten one) and that this thread is ‘trending’, even though it’s about a non existent Kindle.

This has to be the quietest Kindle launch in Mobileread history.

Yeah. Now compare it to the new Kobo threads... of which there are several and they're pretty noisy.

But then in no way does MR reflect the general user base. Most active members here are tinkerers and so naturally gravitate toward Kobo, because Amazon has locked their ebooks and readers down more and more with each passing year. And Kobo has done some serious work on both their hardware and software in recent years, while maintaining their general open-source policy.

Edit: I wanted to ask, did you get one of the new Paperwhites? If not, why?

Visiting Amazon's hosted forum, there seems to be quite a bit of activity? Maybe there seems to be more traffic in the Kobo section here because Kobo doesn't host their own forum?

Well, Kobo has their Reddit too, and it's pretty active. So is the Kindle subreddit. It's only here on MR that Kobo threads have lately become more active than Kindle threads. My guess is this says something about the users here (most of us aren't exactly regular Joes and Jills in regard to ereaders).

Here in the Philippines, kindles are more popular especially among female readers who love to post pictures of their kindles and books they are reading on social media.

I use the Fintie flip case. It's the origami case with even more stability, at least imho. I get them for every model they make them for and really do have to "settle" for any others.

I’ve ordered KP5SE, but delivery date is currently late December. I’m looking forward to this boring, locked down reader that I don’t have to tinker with.
