A send to device question

When you want to sideload say an epub file to a Kindle device, then you have the option to autoconvert to f.ex. AZW3 format if that format is not present.

It works very well, but you also get an AZW3 copy in Calibre. Is there a setting somewhere where you don't leave that copy in Calibre? Just like the KoboTouchExtended plugin converts an epub to kepub, when you send an epub to a Kobo device.

No there isnt. You can bulk delete azw3 files if they bother you, though given the small size of ebook files compared to common disk storage these days I would just ignore them if I were you.

Thank you for your reply. It is really not a problem.

When I buy an AZW3 from Amazon I first edit the metadata to my liking and then polish the book.
Then I convert it to epub and do a quick check of the book in the Calibre viewer.

I have started to delete the AZW3 files because I prefer the formatting in epub, and the formatting is retained in an epub to AZW3 conversion.
