Can't find "Find Duplicates".

I made my way eventually to Plug ins and it tells me I already have Find Duplicates but I can't find it anywhere. I've found advice like go into Settings but I don't even see that. Do I perhaps have a lite version of Calibre? It's quite frustrating trying to follow different guides when a number of the steps are missing.

There is no lite version of Calibre. You either have somehow lost the icons from your toolbar or you have too many there and some are hidden. Do you see tiny arrows on the far right of your toolbar? If you do, click on them. If not, Ctrl+P will take you into the settings. Toolbars & Menus is the place you want, to customize your icons.

As for the problem of too many icons which you don't want to lose, there are several options how to deal with them. Delete the separators. Add the actions to your right-click menu instead. The second toolbar on the bottom. The menu bar. Keyboard shortcuts. The Favorites plugin. I use the last one, the Favorites.

Sirtel, you are so helpful yet again. Ctrl+P opens Preferences. I was looking for a button or command that literally says Settings. Thanks to you I have sorted it.
