Once Sony went with IR Touch on the PRS-650, I never used the buttons. I also never used the buttons on the T1. I highly doubt I'd use the buttons on a Forma or Libra
I've not used a Libra or Forma so I cannot say how they are to hold. But I do like my H2O. |

I'm moving from Amazon to Kobo. No Amz devices, no Amz subscriptions or services, except Kindle (4 of them). I am waiting until later this year to see what Kobo will release. If I had to buy a Kobo now, I think it would be the Libra H20 (just based on what I've gathered from the MobileRead forum and a few review videos).
Edit: I'm looking forward to having the page turn buttons again! |

I've tried a buttonless reader only once and couldn't get used to it. So I'll never buy one again. All my ereaders except for that one have had buttons. And lack of buttons was the main reason why I didn't get a Kobo before the Libra came out.
I've never owned a Paperwhite for the same reason. But at least Amazon always had a Kindle model with buttons. I cannot manage without buttons. |

Hmm, I didn't know that. I thought the Glo's firmware prevented syncing with Overdrive. I will have to dig out the Glo and charge it up and give it a try - thanks!

Returning to the OP's question, comments by some recent purchasers suggest that current Formas may be be better in regards to their lighting, but still plagued by the power switch problem. I successfully outlasted the "kobo month" promotions here, and will keep salting money aside in the hopes of an 8 inch that triggers the sort of raves about the read that the Elipsa is generating.

Provided that Kobo has much success with the Elipsa, perhaps the Forma will be replaced by an 8.0- or 8.5-inch "Forma Note" (or "Elipsa Minor") with page turn buttons and pen. $325 USD.

As long as they still have the regular Forma. $70 for a pen that I'm not going to use and maybe 0.5" doesn't seem worth it to me.

Ditto on the pen. I'd be tempted by an updated Forma that fixes its flaws, and maybe beefed up the internals a bit. I don't need note-taking or other bells and whistles

Likewise, here. I use an Aura One which I have had almost since it came out. I'm ready to replace it, but am waiting for an updated Forma. I don't need note taking or a pen either. What I do need is the night lighting that I understand the Elipsa doesn't have. I may be tempted, but without that feature, it is a no go for me.
