That certainly looks accurate and I can confirm it's definitely an issue on a KOA. It's actually got slightly worse since 2020.07.01 (I haven't put 2020.08.1 on yet as I've only just seen it's been released) as now when exiting a book the rotation is wrong and you have to rotate the KOA for it to re-sync, then everything is fine whilst in KOReader. It's only an issue when restarting KOReader and I just have to remember to hold my Kindle the right way up or suffer the pain of trying to shut it down while everything is upside down but the key presses think it's the right way up (not sure I've explained that bit too well). I thought I'd remembered seeing a bug report that you updated to say it was a firmware issue, but having re-read it the issue was different but your comment was about rotation on a KOA2, https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/5160 Some versions of KOReader seem to be worse for it than others, I still love the software over native though | |

I tried both a CP210x USB to UART and a USB UART TTL FT232RL boards on a Windows 10 laptop. And no board recognized my any key press to stop the autoboot. Any advise? Also, I copied all the files from the kindle-5.4-jailbreak.zip found in kindle-jailbreak-1.16.N-r18002.tar not in kindle-jailbreak-1.16.N-r17396.tar.xz. Was it what supposed to be? Much appreciated any help! Last edited by tinbilly; 03-06-2021 at 11:15 PM. |

Successfully jailbroke my KOA. Just one thing, the root password I got in Step 1: Discover kindle diag mode root password was incorrect which resulted in an incorrect login during Step 4. In the end, I managed to get my correct root password at https://www.sven.de/kindle/.

Okay, I have an oasis that stopped working today, and I'm content to let it go, as I got plenty of use out of it. Just for grins, I thought I might open it up and try to produce a serial ttl connection. Nope. I'm not the man to soldier tiny wires onto tiny copper pads. I tried. I got one. Tried to get the other. Too difficult. Gave up. ;-)
