When you consider the crap that a car collects while driving? Letting a moose lick your car might qualify as endangering wildlife.

On a more serious note, a few decades back, one of our family dogs picked up the habit of licking car tires/wheel wells. She got very ill and the vet blamed that habit for her health issue blaming it on the salt accumulating during winter driving.

And besides that, you don't want a moose with its tongue frozen onto your car. It might get perturbed.

I wonder what's the reason behind this warning? Would it be OK to let a moose lick the driver instead of the car?

I believe it has to do with (whatever the plural of moose is) getting comfortable around cars, putting them, the car, and the occupants of the car in danger.

(IIRC in the US deer are actually the wildlife creature responsible for the most deaths largely due to cars colliding with them and the corpse or soon to be corpse being propelled into one or more of the occupants of said car, I assume a moose would provide a similar risk)

Hmm accidents with deer and moose happen here pretty frequently, but to my knowledge no human has been killed that way, only the poor animals themselves.

Traffic accidents involving moose are 13 times more likely to result in human death than crashes with deer Size does matter, it seems
