Newbie here with a problem with old NOOK BNTV250

I have an old BNTV250 I only use to watch videos and look up stuff on the Internet late at night when I can't sleep. In just the past 3 or 4 months I've started getting a 403 Forbidden or Data Connectivity Problem message with the "secure connection could not be established" message. I don't understand. Can't find any setting that will affect it.
